Unhappy Cat

I took my cat to the vet today to be groomed. My cat looks PISSED off, the assistant brought me to the back room where the cat cages/boarding room is because she was afraid to put him back into the carrying cage. He is so friendly and doesnt bite but the look he had was pure evil lol. He is sitting next to me right now just happy he is out of the vet. I am glad he doesnt hate me. Any cat at the vet stories??

he was neutered before I got him and he had to be one year old or younger when that happened. He is a really nice and friendly cat ( a yellow tabby ) also known as the "golden retrievers" of the cat species

I bet you never had a cat before, its a death wish to groom it (this is including bath) I tried once and just went into a cat medusa with claws all around, me and my friend who was helping me got scractches all over

I have a cat- we bathe it after getting claw-caps put on. And as for the brush- she loves to be brushed when she gets stoned off her catnip mouse.

"My" (he lives with my mom and she no longer considers him mine) cat is a short haired orange and cream tabby, and indoor only. We rarely have to bathe him, but he gets brushed constantly.

My mom got a piece of an old screen, and put it in the bottom of the big steel sink in our basement. Kitty can sink his claws into that, and the water can still drain. Plus it catches all the hair and fur that comes off so the drain isn't clogged.

My sister has this long haired tortoise shell beast she found in her former backyard. She and my brother-in-law both have to hold her, and another person has to shave her. She is blacklisted from all the local groomers for being the beast she is.

Is it really that necessary to bathe a cat? Aren't they "self cleaning?"

I recently lost my cat who was more than 16 years old. We never needed to bathe him even though he had fairly long hair and spent half his time outside. I brushed him a lot but as far as I know he never had a bath nor was he ever professionally groomed. Before you say ewww gross, I'll say he was perfectly clean and did not smell. He didn't really have any scent at all.

the only reason we bathe the cat is to try to keep the dander low but it sucks so she only gets bathed about once a month.
(some of our friends are allergic and we try to keep the house as dander-free and such as we can, which means vaccuuming twice a week and having the HEPA airfilters... I dont think it helps much but it's my roommate's cat and filters.

yeah but the more you groom/brush your cat, the less hairballs. also sometimes they do get really dirty from rolling around in the garden and stuff can get stuck on the fur. It is also good way to get rid of fleas (bath).

shadow has fallen into the bathtub a couple of times. but he's out quickly. normally he's a cleaning machine. i did help wash him for a "llittle" bit after he went out in the mud. but he didn't like it much, preferring to do it himself.

Just lost my 15+ yr old cat. I don't think we'd bathed him in probably 5 years. He had long hair and liked to eat his own hair. Despised the brushing. Needless to say, he had tons of hairballs

But he was a clean cat. Never had a scent or anything. Was a good animal.

I had a himalayan persian Cross. She was long haired so we took her every three months to the groomers. She was also white, so it was necessary to bath her regularly to keep her from looking dingy. The groomers despised us, my cat would do whatever it took to get away from them. She was very friendly in general, she just hated the groomer.
