Janet? ...she was nice to look at for two hours, but I just don't see her as the type of actress to carry a movie. Given her historical stress point (their baby) I expected more range from her.
Tyler's acting was arright, I guess. That scene where he told his wife (foine azz wifey, though selfish) that he was leaving her, where they were walking through their brownstone? tortorous. I sat there thinking, if Denzel Washington was doing this scene it would be off the chain. His range as an actor is deep.
If any of my boys went biaaa.... like Michael did at the table, dude would not have been around for the end credits. foul to the 5th degree.
As kiml122 (I think) said earlier, it didn't make sense for Jilly's girls not to know she got married...I mean if they were that tight?!?
was it just me or was Jilly's dress at the end having to work waaay too hard to keep everything on lock? I mean, I got love for the busty, but dayum, trying to keep focus on the dialogue was at times not that easy.
But then maybe I missed her explanation to her girls, since I sitting in the movie theatre with all yall's cousins talking back to the screen .
Overall, a good flick.

The fact that they did not kill or at least wine bottle Mike after he spilled all sorts of secrets shocked me too.
From my POV, I saw Sheila's seclusion and not telling her girls that she was getting married was necessary to her regaining her essence and her strength. She knew they would be in her corner cheering her on, but it was time for HER to encourage her own self through her mess. What if she had come back before she was ready and Mike tried to holla at her? In her weakened state of mind, she would have taken him back and continued the cycle of mental and emotional abuse. So I totally support her isolation. Sometimes you have to do that to get your head together. And she did in a big way.
In terms of her dress and from what I have seen in Tyler's plays, the attire and wigs are not always the best fit/match for the characters' body shapes.

I hear you but I'm not talking about Michael, but rather her decision to get married. Surely she was settled in her own mind before she did that, right?
As tight as sistahs usually are, that just struck me as odd. All she needed was a quick phone call:
"hey, uh, I shot the sheriff, and I'm 'bout to be his deputy.... so get up here."

Again, sometimes you don't need everybody around you. She's been that route before.
Why am I trying to justify Tyler Perry's plot? We all know there is usually some sort of "that ain't right/that don't make sense" part to the plot. Like Jill Scott driving from Georgia to Colorado in one day.

I didn't want to go there, but seems like Jilly was "readjusted" after a take or so. At first, it seems like she was being suffocated by her girls. Notice her necklace, it was down in her cleavage. Then, next time, she didn't seem so pushed together and her necklace was not anywhere near her cleavage.
However, it seems like I've seen Jilly in a dress like that before.
Still LMAO @ myself.

lol.
You all are something.
Didn't that former astronaut do something like this behind the astronaut she was in love with? I know she went MANY miles without using the restroom. Homegirl was GONE!
Although it was a movie, I guess Sheila was desperate and was willing to do ANYTHING to save her marriage.

Houston to Florida seems a bit more reasonable than Georgia to Colorado. LOL Plus Astronaut wore diapers to eliminate potty breaks.
