I've been waiting for the 360 to come out with their new 65nm CPUs. This should reduce some of the heat (and maybe noise?) coming from the box. I know the problem with the old units overheating was due to the GPU overheating, but still... less heat.
There'll be a new release of the 65nm GPUs (even less heat) within the next few months. Microsoft has already contracted with overseas chip makers to build 45nm chips by '08 or '09 (if past performance is any indicator of future results, by '09, they mean '10 or '11).
I've been waiting for MS to get its quality issues taken care of, and it looks like they're close to doing that.
All that said, I'll probably get into a 360 w/Halo3 sometime after this semester's finals are wrapped up.
