Yes, they are all very old chapters and very well established. They all line a "T" area right in the drive by heart of campus in very stately houses - lots of vines and ivy and English Tudor house - the ones the the dorms just weren't the same.
DD said ADPi would love to have a house but there isn't one there at the present time. What Beta Sig? You mean Beta Sig the Lutheran fraternity? I remember them being in more a dorm area, like where Acacia is in the early 80's. They have started back up again, though. Don't know too much about them these days.

Beta Sigma Psi lived in what is now the Phi Mu house next door to us. I don't know when they went away. The ZTA house was right next door to the DG house and the TKE house was next door to KD on University Terrace next to Cather Pound. After ZTA left in 1980, TKE moved in there, and stayed in the old house, too. I remember that the dining room had zebra wallpaper and lime green chairs...bold decorating choice!
The SAM house was on the corner of 16th and Vine, across from DU on Vine and AXO on 16th.
Phi Mu and ADPi lived in the two houses directly behind Schramm and Triangle and Chi Phi lived in the houses behind the parking lot lovingly referred to as "Eastern Iowa".

Gads...did that just bring back memories or what?!
I used to live in Abel 13, aka 'The Zoo'.

Just curious- from the dates, has ADPi been on campus without a house since 1963? That is amazing!!!

No, they had a house when I was there in the 80's, I believe. They came back to campus in 1963...my guess is that they used their former house or acquired a new one. There an older article in the Daily Nebraskan archive about them. Says they left their house in 1998.

ADPi lived in a university owned sorority house behind the dorm complex in the 1980's when I was in college. They were 4 identical block style brick buildings, circa 1970's.

NUBlue&Blue, THANK you for posting those pictures! What beautiful old chapter houses.
Ever since my Okla St. days, I have always believed that a "real" university should have (in addition to all of the latest scientific and liberal arts amenities) 1) an AGR chapter 2) a Farmhouse chapter and 3) a Dairy Science building with the little student store selling ice cream from the model farm dairy science cows...
