Kappa Kappa Gamma seems to be reporting that all members have been contacted.
As part of the Virginia Tech community, it is with great sadness that Kappa Kappa Gamma received the news of the terrible tragedy suffered on the campus of Virginia Tech. Our thoughts and prayers are with the student, their families, friends, faculty and staff.

The Fraternity has been in contact with Zeta Mu Chapter on the Virginia Tech campus. The chapter utilized their Emergency Procedures and their phone tree to contact each member of the chapter. Members of Zeta Mu are grateful for the support from our sisterhood.

Oh my God. I can't believe so many people are dead... and I hope with all my heart that my sisters are okay... I didn't start crying until I read that some ADPis may have been involved.

There was a shooting at my high school when I was a freshman and it was the scariest day of my life. I can only imagine how much worse this was.

I can't believe this is happening.

I feel awful. Not only because of what is going on but because I have sisters who are unaccounted for. I feel awful that that is what got me crying, when the whole thing sucks in the first place. I feel guilty for being more worried about my own sisters than everyone else who is unaccounted for.

I feel the same way.. I didn't cry about it until I heard about our sisters. I don't think we should feel guilty, though... it just made the incident hit closer to home.

I feel so bad for the chief of police or whatever his title is... he's getting so beat up in this press conference. Yeah, I think someone- police, university or both- dropped the ball, but I feel for this guy.

No word on KD's... our website doesn't have an update and I haven't heard from anyone on our listserve.

I wasn't around a TV or radio much today. The 1st I heard was the 1 person was dead and a bunch injured. The next report I heard was that 31 plus the murderer were dead. I couldn't believe it!

I don't want to hear about his tortured childhood or anything else that puts any blame on anyone other than him. No one has a perfect life or childhood/adult experiences. For crying out loud, people, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!! If what another poster said was correct, he did this because his grades suffered after his girlfriend broke up with him?!? There are just no words for my outrage!

Same here. I checked CNN before lunch and it said 1 person dead. I checked the news again before I left work and it said over 30 dead. I can't believe it! How horrible. Why kill a bunch of innocent people? It makes absolutely no sense.

This sounds harsh, but it's true. It's like people taking up for the Columbine killers because they were bullied. I'm sorry, but if everyone who was EVER picked on by anyone went on a shooting spree, there'd be a school shooting every single day.

Same thing with this incident. If everyone who had ever been dumped went on a killing spree, there'd be one every day.

If you've been dumped and can't handle it, talk to someone. Have yourself committed. Do something. But there is no excuse for murdering innocent people.

I just can't believe this. These people were INNOCENT. They had no idea. They were just going to class like normal college students. Some of them were probably going to go have lunch with friends later or thinking of what they were going to do tonight. It's just so sad.

Jack Thompson, hater of all things video games, has already been on TV decrying games and gamers and clearly this guy (who hasn't even been officially ID'd yet - they're not even saying the same guy is responsible for both shootings) played games and killed people.

And personal responsibility takes a dive.

How long before one of this sick twisted man's "plays" is produced by other sick twisted parties.

Sadly, I'll willing to bet it won't be long.

I completely understand what you're saying and I am in no way trying to make light of his actions-but, and this is a very big but, what if there was mental illness involved? It doesn't pardon him, it will never make up for the losses, the tragedy and the lives he took, and it doesn't excuse him, but someone who doesn't have complete control of their mental faculties is slightly different from bad grades from a breakup.
Again, it may not be mental illness at all, but I suppose nobody will know for quite sometime. This whole situation has me on the brink of tears and my heart broken. Nothing will ever excuse this, but the reason why may at least fill a void and provide an answer.
