I think what happens is some of our fraternity brothers and sorority sisters as well as non-Greeks provide incorrect information about who is a member or not based on what they heard, not what they know for sure. It is up to those who are in the know to provide the accurate information about our orgs.

I agree.

When I was a neo, I created my chapter's website and my personal mission was to create a "Prominent Alphas" page that was thorough and inclusive, yet accurate.

I got on my regional listserv and asked for assistance, but I told Brothers that I would not include Brothers whose membership we couldn't verify.

So we had a lot of hurt feelings when I wouldn't list Tim Reid, Sr., but I listed Christopher Darden. But, as time went on, Bros understood why I couldn't count an appearance in a sweatshirt on "Sister, Sister" as the standard of verification.

I think the people working on Wikipedia have a good thing going and certain orgs have a better standard than others, but that's not a bad reflection on the org, just an indicator on which groups have the bigger open-source nerds, lol.
