Can't wait for the last movie, but I'm hoping it's better than DMC.

Agreed. I was pretty disappointed in DMC.

Nah - it HAD to be that way in order to set up #3 -- just like the Star Wars trilogy (original) leaving Hans Solo to be frozen at the end of the 2nd movie. I was only disappointed with PotC-DMC because I would have paid GOOD MONEY to sit right there and wait for the 3rd one to come out (I am not a very patient person)

Yeah, I didn't really need a 3rd, so the cliff hanger was just unfortunate and disappointing. However, it isn't really the cliff hanger that bothered me, it just seemed that nothing much was accomplished after 2.5 hours. With Lord of the Rings or even Kill Bill each movie accomplished something. Some significant part of the story was told and had advanced. I didn't really feel that with Dead Man's chest. I'm happy with an open ending and a set up for the next film. However over 2 hours of running/sailing around to no avail was not my idea of a good time.

Oh - yeah, that makes sense. On the other board I'm on, they all were complaining about the ending of it. Which is why I assumed that's what you had meant. I totally agree with you from this regard. It was shameless "let's put in enough fighting to make the trailers look good" type stuff. If you watch the DVD with the commentary, they reveal so much of what they were trying to put across on film, but that hopelessly fell flat on the audience (like foreshadowing Jack's demise twice - once in the coffin at the beginning, and once when he fell in the grave during the wheel scene). I thought given the time of that movie, they could have saved the subtle gestures & just spelled it out for everyone.

I haven't watched the commentary but just the other day I was watching the movie again and I thought about the foreshadowing of Jack being the coffin and the grave, but the thing is I've now watched the movie like five times now. Some people just get foreshadowing right away, some don't (for heaven's sake my mom still finds "something new" in Independence Day and how old is that movie now? LOL.)

Well I got the foreshadowing right away, but I realize that some people don't. I don't know how many movies there have been where I didn't see the "shocking twist" coming early on and it seemed everyone else did.

I waited for DMC on DVD, so I already knew not to expect too much. Because of this, I was able to just enjoy the movie for its entertainment value. I can't wait for AWE to come out! I'm really curious about what really happened to Jack (seeing as how he's in the third movie).
