Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
So with the release of DMC only being like two weeks ago, I got curious with what was on the net regarding AWE. Here are some stills I found for the movie....
http://media.movieweb.com/galleries/...594/lo/ao1.jpg http://media.movieweb.com/galleries/...594/lo/ao2.jpg I seriously cannot wait for this movie! LOL. Estimated release date is May 25, 2007 |
Oh yipee!! I got DMC from Netflix on Friday and have been watching it practically non-stop. I am half way through the commentary version & loving it. Sooooo many little things I completely missed the first go round (like Barbosa's boots when the monkey ran in the room & the locket). Its fun to listen to the commentary and find even more fun stuff I missed (such as Will's now classic line "okay - nevermind - let's go" when he is waiting for Jack & then sees Jack running being chased by the cannibals.... he actually had messed the line up & said that to let the directors know that they could try it again, but apparantly it fit perfectly). Such fun :D
My favorite line from DMC is still Jack telling Elizabeth (upon seeing her in boy clothes) that it should be a dress or nothing at all... "and I just happen to have NO dress in my cabin" CLASSIC Jack Sparrow. (Yeah, I'll stop now :o ) |
I wish they'd release it now--they've already made it! They're just torturing us!
My daughter's friend was an extra in the second and third ones--they made them at the same time to save money. I can't wait! |

I do believe I'll be there!

Can't wait for the last movie, but I'm hoping it's better than DMC.

I forgot about that line. LOL. I also absolutely love the lines that I have in my signature. :D Have you watched the feature about Jack's clothing? Johnny Depp is wearing two belts during the movie. The second belt was because he liked the belt buckle so he asked if he could wear two belts and the costume designer was like 'whatever'. LOL. Gotta love Johnny Depp. I don't know I want the contact sunglasses that they created for him for the first Pirates (which I'm sure he wore for the second). |

Yeah, I didn't really need a 3rd, so the cliff hanger was just unfortunate and disappointing. However, it isn't really the cliff hanger that bothered me, it just seemed that nothing much was accomplished after 2.5 hours. With Lord of the Rings or even Kill Bill each movie accomplished something. Some significant part of the story was told and had advanced. I didn't really feel that with Dead Man's chest. I'm happy with an open ending and a set up for the next film. However over 2 hours of running/sailing around to no avail was not my idea of a good time. |

I haven't watched the commentary but just the other day I was watching the movie again and I thought about the foreshadowing of Jack being the coffin and the grave, but the thing is I've now watched the movie like five times now. Some people just get foreshadowing right away, some don't (for heaven's sake my mom still finds "something new" in Independence Day and how old is that movie now? LOL.) |
In response to the last few posts...
Let's face it, usually the 2nd movie in a trilogy kinda sucks but you need it to get to the plot in the 3rd movie. Star Wars is an exception; "The Empire Strikes Back" is probably the best, IMO. But LOTR, "The Two Towers" was painful for me...just a bunch of walking. I had high hopes for DMC, but I really only enjoyed the last 45 minutes in which Jack Sparrow was making hilarious comments/faces and there was action sequences that had a purpose. The sword fight on the wheel was awesome, but the cannibal island was pointless. |
