When I was in school, if a boyfriend was not in a fraternity, then the girlfriend could get "pearled". It basically meant the same thing as being lavaliered and there was a candlel circle for it. The only person that I ever heard of getting lavaliered with our letters was our House Mom (she even cried).
Also, I remember seeing tee-shirts for boyfriends at one time that had IIOA on them (since they were a reflection of the AOII)- that might be cute to get him as a lavalier or engraved on a signet ring or something. Anyway, there is my 2 cents!

When I was in school, I remember that if a guy was not in a fraternity, he could lavalier a girl with her sorority letters.
