DeltAlum, I read your post and Google News'd to see if there was anything else. There sure is, but it seems to make things even murkier. Here's the address for a story on station WCCO's site:

http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_261192814.html

The quote from a vice president of the university makes it sounds almost like the school was using the incident as an excuse to "do something" to the chapter. Apparently no one has been charged for attacking the victim, and there's no hint that any members of the fraternity took part in the attack.

Very odd. Thanks for giving me the incentive to find an update, even though it raises more questions instead of providing answers.

Thanks.

You're right about making the situation murkier.

In addition, the journalism needs some help as well. Since when are people quoted using their first names instead of their last or both?

Sounds like the Delts allowed the wrong people into the house and the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time as well.

If nothing else, though, this should be a reminder to be careful who is allowed into a party or a chapter house. There have been a number of incidents reported in Risk Management where non members have started trouble at a party.

I think that is why National Organizations are being very stiff about open parties being held without restrictions in place.

There have been at least 3 Chapters where rapes were said to have happened by non members and the chapters are closed.

Chapters MUST police them selves or the school and or the National will.

In this case, where is the Alum who should or could be helping out!
