I am so glad you asked me about Jumpin' Jim and I feel 100 percent qualified to answer because I took him to formal my senior year! As a friend! Jim was a wonderful date! He was a PiKA, Teddy bear-cute, great dancer, gentleman and behaved himself. He went to a lot of formals, so if he is now the man in Palm Beach, I know where he honed his skills. There were several fraternity men who were regulars at formals -- good guys and great dancers, easy to hang out with...that type. I honestly don't recall there being fights over them, though. They were usually off the market pretty quickly, grabbed by women who were not dating anyone or whose boyfriend couldn't attend.
