She can choose whatever ethnic background she wants to. But, is it really necessary for her to describe her physical appearance- what she looks like and what she doesn't look like? What race of people she hangs out with? Is that necessary?

This is what I'm getting at. And what she's really asking, from the way I see it, is not what am I getting myself into, but more on the lines of "because I do not have "traditionally black hair", I have "white hair, and mostly white friends, do you think my chances are better?"
