Are you talking about the subways packed so full of people that they have attendants who have paddles used to shove extra people in? We witnessed this on my birthday trip to Tokyo in October. Hilarious! My favorite part was watching a train pull up with people packed so tight that their faces were smashed against the side of the windows. They actually have train cars reserved for women so they don't have men copping a feel while they're shoved in so tight!
