I was a mademoiselle in high school. Some kids in need something productive to do with their time, I think the groups can be very positive, and if you have a good sponsor like I did, who just so happened to be a Delta from Tuskegee, you learn that its not just about stepping. It was about building relationships, growing into adulthood, being responsible, helping in your communities, etc. Hell, I said I wasnt even going to college before I became a part of that group.. but my sponsor was so positive.. and such a beautiful woman in my opinion, I wanted to be "like her"..
I ran into her at convention in Vegas and literally started crying because I was so happy to see her and to show her who had become because of her... In saying all that, sometimes, its about so much more than just wanting to imitate a GLO!
