It doesn't matter what Princeton or MSN say.
I'm just looking for open opinions, whether they are based on their own location of education or not. I'm not going to take what posters say as 100% true, though I would put thought into it and make my own educated guess.

Academics, etc... is important for me in choosing universities though I may have a interest in the greek system, and may lead to have somewhat importance/ preference as well.

-That's ridiculous

Due to interest/ possibility of joining a fraternity in the future, I would like to know students opinions of schools greek life ( from there I will use my own personal information such as preference in academics etc.... to determine the school overall, I just asked for a simple opinion list).
I'd just recommend that you as a HS student focus on that which you can control (grades) to get into college. Then pick an appropriate university/college based on what you want to do professionally for the rest of your life. Greek life, although a great part of the college experience (in my opinion), should not be your primary reason for selecting a school of higher learning. Afterall, there is no guarantee that you will receive a bid to join a Greek organization so why would you select a school based solely on Greek life?

I agree with Kansas City. First base your choice on academics and location. Then find out about their Greek System, Social Life and Football Team.
Yeah I know there are many biased opinions, but I also will make my own educated guess.

School academics, location etc... is important, though with interest in the greek system ( if I plan to join a fraternity) that will be somewhat important and could have influences.

Ofcourse I wouldn't look at schools outside of my personal preference range ( such as a tier 3 school ) because of the greek system.

Exactly, there isn't a guarantee that I will get bid to join a fraternity, nor a guarantee that when I go to college I will try to join one. At the moment it's part of my interest. Yeah my future as a doctor is consider in choosing universities, though with interest in the greek life..... it may have influences as well.
Some things is a matter of personal preference, and no I'm not trying to select a school based on greek life , academics is more important.

Don't see why greekchat.com users are bashing me about this thread, when clearly this is a greek forum website.

It would be less surprising if I got these comments on collegeconfidential.com.

Because you ask questions, but decide not to listen to the answers.

Those were not answers given, and if so they were unacceptable.

Good luck. From a mid-western perspective, I don't know of any poor Greek systems, they are all just unique to their environment. There are good and bad chapters at any university small or large and like many things in life, you will get out of your Greek experience what you put into it. So long as you select a university for the right reasons and get accepted, then you can consider and extra-curricular activities (including Greek life). I guess that my problem is with how you asked your original questions. Getting opinions from complete strangers is no way to create an opinion of your future school. Instead, you should visit the schools and talk with students you know that are already attending that school. Strangers on GC aren't going to tell you which schools or chapters are good/bad. If you want opinions to take into consideration, do it personally with students that already attend those institutions you are considering.

Don't need a random post on how good of a school Pennslyvania State University is, for it was always on one of my list.

Yeah I see what you mean, and I wouldn't recommand anyone to take all truth to what people say on greekchat.com either. I asked random users to give a random list, and probably would have compared it to professional ranking, and other students opinions on campus etc... Here the schools that fall into my preference in academics etc.... and to be more well known to their greek system, may higher my interest in schools on my list... and if academics preference meeted... added other universities.

I guess I'm not sure what purpose it would provide for anyone to give a so-called "Top 10 List of Greek Universities".

First off, best at what? Brother/sisterhoods? Academics? Party life? Philanthropy/Community service? Active in SGA, honoraries, clubs, etc? Alumni involvement?

Second, I'm willing to bet there are few folks in the country, aside from I/nat'l officers, who have spent enough time on enough campuses to make accurate assessments of all the Greek systems.

Third, does any of this really matter in the whole scheme of things? I've known plenty of sisters who went to school on campuses that the Greek Life could be termed as lousy for a variety of reasons where an anti-Greek attitude permeated the student body, faculty, administration and even the surrounding community. Yet they loved their chapter, loved their sisters, loved being a member this Inat'l org, and were proud to wear their letters.
