No kidding.
If the kids' teacher was anything like my 4th Grade teacher, I don't blame em. Miss Rowley was Satan's sister.

you're right,
this is TV's fault. We need to spend countless millions and give more power to FCC and then nothing bad will ever happen to anyone ever again.

In my experience most people hired to deal with us never had a clue.
You're friend probably could've avoided that situation. And i'm sure that the punishment for the student who defended him/herself against your friend was completely uncalled for.

I teach and there is definitely something wrong with the students who are coming through the educational system now. I guess they figured if she lived, momma would just go to the school and curse her out and deny any wrong doing on their child's behalf.

Seems as if a few people are either in denial or just can not get thieir heads around this. Or perhaps they could be correct :
Experts dubious of Ga. 3rd-grader plot
WAYCROSS, Ga. - Allegations that third-graders hatched an elaborate plot to knock out, handcuff and stab their teacher were met with shock by neighbors and with doubt by psychiatry experts who said it is unlikely that children that young seriously intended to hurt anyone.

Are you kidding or trying to be deliberately offensive? You read a story about a teacher getting her leg broken and pushed down stairs, and you assume that the student was defending himself or herself? Did I miss something?
I think that "the teacher deserved it comments here" were probably in jest, right? How else are kids going to learn the capital of Vermont?

just trying to add some balance. Special Ed teachers, while some are angels, some are devils. I know. I went through the system. But untill i see indisputable proof that the kid did that for no reason, I will assume it was the teacher at fault, as everyone else seems ready to blame the student.
No i'm not Kidding. I'm not being deliberately offensive, but if you're offended I couldn't care less.
There are more bad people than good that teach special ed. I wouldn't be surprised at all if those teacher's deserved it.

I can't believe you would say that. Do you know that there is a very high precentage of teachers that have been assaulted in their career? It is ridiculously high. My mother was one of them. Her student was kicked out of 3 classes before hers. It was the students that reported it because they were so tramatized. Teachers are highly underpaid and underappreciated.

She disciplined (another article used the word "scolded") one of the students for standing on a chair.
That bitch. Cut her!
This article reports that experts are now saying they doubt the kids would have actually followed through with the attack. That's fine and all, but the fact that a bunch of 9-year-olds were even TALKING about doing something like this in such detail is disturbing -- bringing gloves, assigning kids to cover the windows and others to clean up the blood -- agh!
