I was in the top 20%, probably. I took three AP classes my senior year (one was first period ), was a National Honor Society member, Spanish National Honor Society member, and was glad as HAYLE to done with senior year. I graduated with a 3.8, I think.

Class of 1994...... wow!!

I was not in the top 20, so I have no idea what my rank was. Nor was I in the National Honor Society.

Ten years later, I turned out okay.

I was in the top 15 percent in a class of 505 at an academically competitive high school..we had kids with 5.0 GPAs also....I could never be inducted into the National Honor Society because of my behavior in school...I was bad and acted out alot..

HA! I'm just grateful I wasn't in the bottom 10%! I was in the top third of my class in college though, maybe the top 20%, I'm not sure, but definitely over 30%.

I was #21 out of 22.

And if you believe that, you've never met my mother. I was #21 out of 213 people.

I only knew of three students that took AP classes in my senior class, two of them had the same GPA (4.3) so they were co-valedictorians. One had between a 3.9 and 4.1(?) and he was salutatorian. Essentially, they had been in the top 3 of the Class of '91 since perhaps freshman year. I was not going to go that high.

Looking back, I don't know of any other students that took AP classes, though there could've been a couple, I don't know--I honestly didn't hear AP classes being heavily emphasized my entire HS career, so I don't know what its overall impact to the class was.

FWIW, I just had the feeling that I was creeping in the top ten when I realized I went from the bottom rank of my Trig/Analytic Geometry class at the start of the year to the #2 rank by the end of the year--the number one guy was a junior (and future fellow Nupe) and he was vying for the top 10 ranking for the class of '92. I ain't mad at him for acheiving--that's pra'bly what helped him become a Nupe.

PS: Matter of fact, CT4 actually went to college with this guy and knows him personally .

I was #9/120 in my graduating class (with a 4.0 overall GPA). The top 5 all had GPAs higher than 4.0 because of AP courses. Our valedictorian & salutatorian both had 5.0 GPAs (because they took the max number of AP courses allowed). I only took one (English).

I was actually MAD when I got my class ranking because I thought I was ranked higher. I remember crying to my friend (who was thrilled because she was valedictorian). I thought life was over.

Five years later later, we get some good laughs over that story.

My HS experience was interesting. I went to and "gifted" elementary school, so when I went to high school I was a sophmore academically. For three years I took classes with the students a year ahead of me. When they graduated, I was "housed" with my class, but tutored one-on-one in college prep courses.

The unfortunate thing about all of this is that I was already at least a year younger than my class (started HS at 12) and thus at least two years younger than the ones I had class with. My maturity level was definitely not on par and it affected me emotionally. I did not want to be the ultra smart TK (yes my Mom was the head of the math department at my HS.) So I did my fair share of acting out academically--skipping classes, not studying, etc.

Top 10% in highschool, which would have place me in the thirties somewhere. #7 in my class in college, darn those two A-s.

LOL. Yeah, it's a big high school. It's built like a small college campus. In 9th grade, we actually started out with 1 thousand something, but with dropouts, pregnancies, kids getting killed, etc. we ended up with 824.

I started high school at 13 and ended at 16. I was high enough in rank to get into 3 out of 4 of my college choices. I honestly don't know my rank because I wasn't all that interested. As long as I graduated and went to college, I was good. I did finish with about a 3.5 I think but I went to school with over-achievers so I definitely wasn't in the top 10%. Maybe the top 25% I dunno.

I was in the top 15% of my graduating class, #33 out of 310 with a 3.3 GPA, inducted in the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.
