My dear sister, basketball is the most important thing, followed closely by SEC football.

Kentucky Basketball, NCAA Basketball, Kentucky Football, SEC Football and then general NCAA football.

Guess this isn't the time to bring up my NHL Hockey fandom, huh?

What do the years 1985, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 have to do with Kentucky athletics? They are the years that Kentucky won the national cheerleading championship, the latest one being won tonight!

That's another 3 in a row, 11 of the last 12 and 15 overall. Go Cats!

And to add insult to injury (actually, I'm not sure if this was a good thing or not) CBS pulled the feed from DirectTV so we weren't able to get the game locally at our sports bar. We even got a call from an alum to who use to live here and now lives in New York City to see if we were getting the game.

So for the two hours, over twenty of us set around following the game via the score ticker on other telecasts and getting updates off the internet.

What's the world coming to ...

first the UTenn men beat the UK men in basketball and then
the UK women beat the UTenn women ...

Edited to correct ... (thanks TSteven) ... it was the Vandy men not UTenn ... I guess my rememberer isn't working ...

I think the world is upside down .. I guess Tucson should start expecting snow ... :-)

UK and UT have yet to play in men's basketball this season. It was Vandy that had the honors.

UK Hoops Notebook - Women Make History

"Wildcats one of only four unranked teams in NCAA history to defeat a No. 1 team: With its 66-63 win over top-ranked Tennessee Thursday evening, Kentucky became one of only four unranked teams in women’s basketball history to defeat a No. 1 team."

I bet we aren't unranked for long!

GO CATS!

You know it's sad when Vandy tried repeatedly to hand us the game on a silver platter, but yet again, we snatched another loss from the jaws of victory. The best recap of the game is courtesy of alt.sports.college.sec.kentucky, mildly offensive language and all:
