I don't know yet, but I've almost completed my reverse resolution - ending on New Year's Eve - of giving up soda. I don't know if I'll go back to it or not.

I'd like to say stop biting my nails, but that will never happen.

You'd be surprised I was taking a course and in it a test had been done where people who bite they're nails are more likely to smoke and from that day I stopped! I think smoking is a horrible habit and I've watched both my parents try to quit for years. I wasn't getting into that! lol Silly I know

I quit doing that when I was on a trip to Europe. It was 3 weeks long and I always heard that's what it took to break a habit, so I would not let myself bite my nails at all during that trip and it worked! Set a certain goal that say "by valentine's day I want to have long pretty nails" A concrete date & reminder was perfect for me. I felt proud of myself for quitting!

1) Get back into the gym
2) Point out more reasons I have to be happy and less I have to complain about
3) Limit my "bum" days to once a week at the most (less sweatpants & hoodies)
4) Set aside a real bed time and wake up time even for days I could sleep in
5) Spend less money eating on campus

I don't know, my nail biting addiction is pretty bad. The "sure fire" way to quit that many people have told me about was to just get fake nails. Yeah, no. Once those started to grow out I bit those off completely.

It doesn't hurt to try though!

Yeah that didn't work for me either. I bit mine off as well. The goal thing worked for me (usually doesn't for me, but on a fluke it did)
Either way good luck!!!! You'll be so proud of yourself when you stop

Ohh! Well in that case, there's hope for me yet!

Every person who had suggested the fake nails thing to me had a look of "OMG YOU'RE SCREWED" whenever I had told them that I had bitten the fake nails off.

Every year I keep hoping I'll kick that nasty habit once and for all, but the best I've been able to do is quit for a few months at a time. Then once my nails start breaking because they're too long, I start biting them again. Maybe now that I'm working I'll be able to afford a regular manicure!

Good for you! I'm an adoptive mom to a 7-year old boy and have dealt with infertility as well. PM me if you'd care to chat - I'd be more than happy to share my experience with you.

My one major resolution for this year is to FINALLY clean out our home office. I've let it become a pigsty and it is beyond embarrassing. At this point, only a flamethrower might help this mess!

It's a growing list:

--Be more Type A: making plans, sticking to them, organized. These things make me anxious and drive me crazy in other people, but I see how it benefits them.
--Read more: for leisure, anyway. My friends and I have started our book club again, so that should help.
--Manage my energy: this article I read for work was pretty smart abuot managing energy versus time. I hate waking earlier but I could get so much more done if I got to work an hour earlier, actually taking a lunch break away from my desk and actually excersizing (perhaps starting weekly yoga again?)

My biggest goal is to get to bed earlier every night so that I can get up with plenty of time to work out before work. Currently, I get to bed between 11:00 and 11:30 and have a difficult time getting up at 5:30. I would like to cut that to between 10:30 and 11, and ultimately BY 10:30

Only one: to simplify and let go of all the *stuff* that is blocking my energy (literally and figuratively). Check back in a year and see how I did.

Losing a few pounds by working out on a regular basis. I don't need to lose weight, as my weight is healthy, but I feel better when just a few pounds lighter.

Finish graduate school and find a job.

Enjoy life more, relax to enjoy the moments that I'm doing nice things instead of being worried of what I should be doing.

Lost 2 pounds, and did start working a bit more. Not quite enough though

I'm working on my graduate thesis, so almost there!

1) I'm going to stop biting my nails too - its a horrible habit and one i've been ashamed of for a while.

2) I'm going to lose a few pounds (well more than a few) before my vacation in May.

3) I'm going to look into adoption (I found out a while ago that kids are not going to happen for DH & I - a little sad - but we know there is a kid out there for us)
