What matters more?

I am a newbie in the GC world, but I recently was asked a question and figured you guys could give me the best answer!
Anyway, last Sunday I was speaking with the daughter of a friend. She is in high school and is beginning to consider where to go for college. We begain talking about greek life and she asked me a question that seemed simple, but the more I thought about it, the more complicated it became!
So here was her question-- What are you more loyal to, your college chapter or your national(international!) sorority?
I told her that when you first go through recruitment, it is the college chapter that brings you in. So in the begining it is the college chapter what holds your loyalty. However as you grow in the chapter, you meet others from other chapters (either online or in real life) and you notice bonds that go beyond your college chapter.
By this point, I felt like I was talking in circles! Anyone have any other (better) answers? Thanks!
