I don't know enough about Bowl games or rankings, hence me asking this question. Hopefully someone will be able to help me.
Okay. ASU and USC are both tied for first in the Pac-10. We both have one more game. If we both win, are we both still tied for 1st and how would they decide who goes to the Rose Bowl? Now, if USC loses to UCLA (which I really, really hope they do since they played so nasty on Thursday), would ASU still be ranked number 1? Oregon is actually behind ASU and USC in the rankings. If all 3 teams win next week how does that work in the rankings? Everyone is saying that the only way ASU will go to the Rose Bowl is if USC and Oregon both lose their games. But Oregon is below us in the ranking so it doesn't make sense to me.
BTW the rankings I'm looking at are via ESPN and their as current as they can be considering not all the teams have played (I think). They are accurate with ASU and USC (since ASU was 9-1 prior to Thursday's game and now we are 9-2).
Also, who actually goes to the Fiesta Bowl? All it says online is BCS v. BCS. What BCS rank versus what BCS rank are they talking about?
My last final question, as of 11/18 LSU was 1 in BCS but they lost. ASU was number 6 and lost to number 11 USC. Where would LSU fall to? And is it even possible for USC to jump ahead of ASU? I understand that ASU will drop and USC will go up, but USC is 5 below. Does it depend, as with the Pac-10, how the other teams play?
Thank you to anyone who can answer my questions, because I'm so confused. I don't know enough about football and no one in my family does either, hence me asking. Thanks to anyone who takes pity on me
