Bowl Games....
OK folks, we ALL need to cheer on LSU this weekend so they beat Tennessee. That way my boys the Cornhuskers go off to whomp Miami in the BCS Championship!

Disclaimer: I apologize to all my Greekchat friends that are VOLS and CANES fans. I had given up hope after the Colorado game and now I"m excited!

I'm so stuck in the middle on this game. I have been a Vols fan as long as I can remember, and I was at the game on Saturday
But...my husband is from Louisianna and I have recently really started to like LSU. Oh well, I will be happy whoever wins, but it would be nice if Tennessee won, got to go to the Rose Bowl, and beat the Canes. Fulmer deserves another National Championship

I am torn too...I dated a guy from LSU and got into them (especially now with the new coach)
Did you enjoy the game in Knox? I actually can say I sprained my ankle at the Florida/UT game! LOL! I was in my living room, and I got so excited, I jumped up and started to run the ball and tripped over something. Whata clutz Maybe I will ask Santa for a helmet this year

This time it was at the Swamp, and it was definitely crazy. My sister goes to UF (don't ask, my mom is a UT alum and beside herself) and got my mom and me tix for the game. One problem, in the middle of the UF student section. There was no outright cheering going on (we probably would have been killed...I'm sure you've heard the stories about the fans.), but it was still very awesome. After the game we went over to the UT section. The band stayed and kept on playing for like 30 minutes and all the fans waited for the players to come back out.
I definitely wouldn't have given up being there to see UT win in the Swamp for the first time since 1971 for anything in the world
I know what you mean about getting excited. You don't want to be at my house any weekend during football season unless you REALLY get into football...

Barb, thanks for the cheer for LSU! Its going to be AMAZING if our boys get to take that ride up I-10 to NOLA for New Years. I'm gonna be down there partying with the best of 'em, even if I can't get tix.
Geaux Tigers!

Y'all should have known that I was going to chime in on this topic. LOL. Saturday is going to be an amazing day!!!! Barb...juniorgrrl and I are going to have to teach you all of the cheers and dances so you can really root us on to victory on Saturday. I'm just really happy that we get the chance to play ut instead of uf. Otherwise we might as well just kissed the SEC championship goodbye. I read in the school newspaper today that 51% of the people polled on SECsports.com expect LSU to win. Juniorgrrl I have to agree that if we get the shot to play in the Sugar Bowl it's going to be crazy. I've decided that no matter where we go...I'm following the team. My sisters and I are going to make one hell of a road trip out of wherever we go!!!!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok lets be logical for a moment and totally unbiased....
UT beat Florida with a score of 34-32...only losing one game this year to Georgia, by only 2 points.
UT beat LSU with a score of 26-18
Florida beat LSU with a score of 44-15
Looking at the difficulty in schedules...LSU playing people like MTSU, Mississippi State, Utah State and Tulane.....versus the easiest game UT had was Syracuse and Vanderbilt...there is no comparison. Unless UT goes in with ego problems, or playing the 2nd string, they will win.

One word about Tennesee: LETDOWN
I predict a first quarter where LSU comes out and takes it right to the Vols putting up 13 or 14 points, and then taking the game over.
And then in the Rose Bowl it's Heisman Trophy Winner Eric Crouch running wild all through the Hurricane Defense
GOOOOO BBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGG RRRRRRREEEEEDDDDDDD! Go! Big! Red!

LSU held its own against UT this year - we were leading at halftime. The play just got sloppy.
This time, its for keeps, and I feel the tigers are gonna play one HELL of a game.
I think that when LSU plays Florida, they get the attitude of "we're gonna lose anyway" in their head and it handicaps them.
Yeah, we did have a pretty easy program this year. But the Tulane game, that was more of a rivalry thing than a "easy game" thing. Yeah, we killed them, but the LSU-Tulane rivalry is great. Too bad no one that goes to Tulane is from Louisiana and understands

Is this a typo?
We want LSU to win so that Nebraska will go to the Rose Bowl and play Miami--NU wouldn't play LSU.

I still can't believe that Florida allowed themselves to get beaten by Tennessee! I'm beside myself in shock, but I'm sure it'd be worse if I were at home right now.
I'm reminded of an extra credit math problem I had once (no, I wasn't in "easy" math):
Multiply the sine of 294 by the freezing point of mercury by the number of times Peyton Manning beat the Gators.
