What Makes You Puddle Up?
For some people, it's a movie; for others, it's a song; still others just have to see or hear or even smell something, and they get misty-eyed.
So, what makes you puddle up?
Many of my triggers are movies. Right now, I have Mr. Holland's Opus on, and the waterworks are starting, but the other day, it was Cool Runnings. When the Jamaican bobsled team start to carry their sled, I'm verklempt. There are many more, but I thought I'd throw it out here.

I work with a program that assists women leaving the sex industry. Most are trying to get out of prostitution. I tear up when they come up to me and tell me they have accepted Christ as their personal savior. I tear up again when they graduate from our program with a thirst for helping other women leave the industry.

I'm not a country fan, but "Almost Home" by Craig Morgan gets me every time.

Dead Poets Society. Every. Stinking. Time. Especially at the end where Robin Williams is leaving and turns around and the boys are on the desks. Waterworks!

The State Farm commercial with the little boy that asks his mom if the agent is sick then tells the agent "Don't worry, your hair will grow back. Mine did." Seriously. Almost cried just thinking about it.
And 5 million other things. I'd claim pregnancy hormones but I've been like this forever...

The sadness of a sweet old man that my husband & I picked up on the highway on Saturday. I had passed his truck by the side of the highway & knew the nearest gas station was much further than he was going to be able to walk. He is black & I am white. I could feel his initial uneasiness with us. He seemed to relax as we chatted about being married. He has been married to his wife for 52 years! We took him to the gas station, got gas, and drove him back to his truck. By the time we got there, we might not have been friends, but he had a smile on his face and shook our hands.

"Leader of the Band" by Dan Fogelberg. Every time. It came out right when my father was killed.

Dogs. When you don't see a dog that you've grown close to for a few months and he or she greets you and just lays on you for the next few hours. That always turns me into mush on the inside.
When Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia was getting popular, I couldn't listen to if without getting really sad for a while because it was gaining traction right when the Newtown shooting happened.
The second movement, Horkstow Grange, of Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger also makes me sad everytime I play it or hear it. FYI, it's based on a folk song about a man who died either through an accident or murder.
ETA: The end of Toy Story 3. Right in the childhood...

When a dog or other innocent pet gets killed in a movie. In that Red Wedding scene in Game of Thrones, I was stunned but OK...until they killed the wolf/dog.
Those extended length Hallmark card commercials that play during a special Hallmark TV movie.

not the teary-eyed type but ...
When soldiers come home and "surprise" their family members at sporting, or other public events.
Usually, it's the soldier's child who turns around to find their previously-overseas parent right there with open arms.
...that right there is good stuff.

This is what I came to say. OMG I lose it every time!
Similarly, when soldiers have their first reunion with the dogs. Like this. (ANNNDDD I'm crying at my desk). I think it's something to do with the fact that animals don't understand why you're gone...you're just gone. And now I'm crying thinking about the fact that we're gonna have to board kitty for 2 weeks when we go back home.
Disney Movies are another one for me. There's at least one part in pretty much all of them that will make me bawl.
For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2bk_9T482g
And: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWZNZjSJco0 I was an absolute WRECK in the theatre.

I am currently crying at the drop of a hat, so all of the above.
Crying now, actually and wondering why I clicked on this thread.

Off the top of my head:
Poltergeist (the first one)
Family Guy: Brian and Stewie -Season 8, Episode 17 2010- At the end.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas-Saw it in the theater. I waited until the theater cleared out and went to the restroom to "clean up". All the women in there were "cleaning up" too. We talked and shared and hugged. I own the film but I'm not ready to watch it again.
Becoming Jane, Sense & Sensibility (Emma Thompson) Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightley)
Daria-Are we there yet
Gladiator
New Year's Eve-I only saw the last half but when the teen girl get's her heart broken.
LOTR Return of the King
Hope Floats-When Bernice cries as her dad drives away. I have to skip that part.
The Magdalene Sisters-Hurt my feelings and my heart. One of the most HORRIFYING things I've ever seen in my life. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318411/
A few episodes of Designing Women
In Life:
When people cry
Hurt animals- Why I could never work at an animal shelter/spca. I'd be a mess.
