Here's the story
of a lovely lady
who was rushing at a medium Midwestern school
****************************************
Ok, enough of that
My little PNM, Fluffy, went to the Panhellenic summer tea and met ladies from the 5 NPC sororities on campus
Cindy
Jan
Marcia
Carol
Alice
She liked all of them, but Cindy stood out to her. To add to
Cindy's appeal, Fluffy's absolute best friend from high school pledged
Cindy at a nearby school just a few weeks after the summer tea.
Fluffy has no greek affiliations, but she has an adult mentor

who helped her get recs for each chapter on campus. Fluffy isn't the typical sorority type. Sure, she has lovely long blonde hair (she is a Brady after all), and is sweet as can be, but she isn't necessarily a rah-rah oh.my.gosh. in your face extrovert. I had several conversations with her about not being turned off by the cheerleading aspect of recruitment, and to try to answer questions in a way that helps her rushers get to know her, since she is a bit hard to get to know at first.
Surprisingly to me, she is very excited about recruitment!
Fluffy loves her Rho Gamma and had fun at orientation where the Rho Gammas sang songs of each chapter on campus.
Finally day one arrived. PNMs boarded a bus to the chapter houses. Half of the PNMs started in the morning, but Fluffy got to sleep in because her group didn't start til afternoon. Yes, she had to deal with brutal heat, but she said it wasn't too bad. She wore her Panhellenic t-shirt and shorts. She added a distinctive necklace to set herself apart. (Her mother was horrified, but I convinced her it would help Fluffy stand out.)
After 5 parties in the extreme heat, Fluffy was exhausted and losing her voice. Her comments were:
Cindy - really liked them a lot. #2 on her list so far
Jan - seemed "really weird". I gave Fluffy the Panhellenic pep talk. You met 2 Jans. That is hardly enough to judge the entire chapter. Plus, Jan is a huge national group with lots to offer. Maybe the Jans she met were having trouble finding their identity. Maybe her rusher's boyfriend, George Glass, had just dumped her! Maybe she was sick of always being in her older sister's shadow!
Marcia - Fluffy liked Marcia ok but thought they were a bit boring. I told her that maybe the Marcias were tired. Maybe they were recovering from a football injury. You never know.
Carol - Fluffy fell in love with Carol. The Carols always had the perfect thing to say and made her feel very welcome. She could tell that the Carols would never play ball in the house.
Alice - Fluffy liked Alice a lot. They were like a second mom. She could see herself bringing her problems to them and getting good advice.
Fluffy ranked the chapters like this:
Carol
Cindy
Alice
Marcia
Jan
