ITT we share funny\ unbelievable\ ridiculous stories.
Ever heard one of those stories that is just THAT good? You know, the kind that makes you actively hunt down people to tell it to because you're dying for their reaction? Well I'm sitting on one of those right now, as I'm sure many of you have from time to time. So please, come out and share them, and let us marvel at how silly life\people are together and brighten each other's days.
Allow me to begin:
Last weekend I went home to Portland for Thanksgiving and had dinner with my best friend from high school who still lives there for school. She was telling me about how she took the max [public transit, like a train I suppose?] with a friend from her school to check on a dog she was sitting for. Now the very first thing the owners had told this girl was "The dog might die while we're gone." ...yeah. But they cautioned the girl that she should call their vet and he would know what to do. So sure enough the two girls show up and discover the dog is dead. Mortified, they call the vet who explains that he can't get there for 2 or 3 days so they'll just have to bring the body to him. As it was, neither had their car since they had taken the max over. Hysterical, they find a duffle and stick the roughly 60 pound body inside and carry it over to the max station. As you can imagine, they felt rather funny carrying around a dead dog's body. But on a more practical level, the fact of the matter was that the bag was heavy and they were having a hard time. Luckily, as they got on a nice young man offered to help them and they were too tired from the walk to say no. The man was young, in his twenties, and reportedly quite the looker. The three talked pleasantly until the man commented, "wow this is heavy, what's in here?" My friend panicked but the other girl quickly blurted "Electronics!" The man apparently thought this was a reasonable answer because the conversation moved on. Shortly after the girls reached their stop downtown and the man got off with them still carrying the bag. As soon as his feet hit the pavement however he took off running...carrying what he thought was a bag of electronics. The two girls stood their in complete shock and disbelief. Later they called the owners who obviously weren't happy, but didn't place any blame on the pair. Imagine for a moment if you will the young man's face as he opened what he thought was a bag of electronics....that my friends is what you call karma.
