Les Miserables musical turned movie...

Yes you read that right. Les Mis is being turned into a movie.

http://screenrant.com/russell-crowe-...-sandy-131136/

Now that the production start date for The Wolverine has officially been pushed back until Spring 2012, Hugh Jackman’s next starring role will be that of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables – an adaptation of producer Cameron Mackintosh’s award-winning Broadway musical take on Victor Hugo’s classic 1862 novel.

Wow is all I have to say right now.

I wonder how they will adapt it, considering it is like a 3 hour musical.

And please let them not take out my absolute FAVORITE song!
Please cast someone good as Eponine.

Broadway World is reporting that Anne Hathaway (at Jackman’s encouragement) is “set to take on the role” of Fantine, a single mother who desperately struggles to provide for her young daughter, Cosette, in Les Miserables. Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly), Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) and Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson are all reportedly in contention to play the young adult version of Cosette.
Those four startlets are also said to be in the running to portray Éponine,

Seriously, unless they can sing, why the heck would you cast them in a MUSICAL!

I know Lucy Hale can sing (from the lifetime movie Sorority Wars).

I'd like to see Lauren Pritchard as Eponine. But I know that won't happen since she's not a "name" in Hollywood.

Still sad that Jason Isaacs is not Javert.

I wish they would have gone with no-names like they did for Christine in the Phantom of the Opera movie. Sometimes I feel like the producers think NAME actors can carry a movie that is otherwise not good. We don't need to make the same mistakes made with Sweeney Todd.

One of them!

My other favorite is Lovely Ladies. LOL. I always told my mom "if I ever get to be in Les Mis I want to be one of the whores so I can sing Lovely Ladies". She always cracked up.
