Inclusive sorority or fraternity

Are there any organizations that are inclusive with membership? Any that deal without the rush, bids, and selection process? Are there any groups that allow all applicants or potential members to go through the NM process?

I am interested to see if there are other groups that use this method.

I understand the 'quality over quantity' but often I read on GC about potential members who 'slip through the cracks,' often don't receive invites back to the chapter, and end up seeking membership elsewhere or completely dropping from Greek life.

Being open membership has alot of drawbacks, as in having to take every single girl/guy who walks through your doors. Every girl/guy is not meant to be in a fraternity or sorority.

For a moment i believed that to be an existing organization. I understand the downside to it. I was just wondering if it happens.

There are some service fraternities or sororities which have inclusive membership, but I still believe even those organizations have a method for not initiating those who don't complete requirements or don't embody the spirit of the organization in some way.

I've never heard of an all-inclusive general GLO.

If you meet the requirments Sigma Phi Lambda a national christian sorority is open membership. Some locals also might be open but thats all.

If they have requirements (one of which I would assume is being Christian), then they wouldn't necessarily take all applicants, would they?

But you have to be Christian or at least support Christianity, right?

That is inclusive, but only to a particular group.

There have been points in my Phi Sig chapter's history where a bid has been extended to every person that came out. But, we vote every two weeks on initiates--and people were cut. Often too.

Years ago the left wing faculty at Davidson College imposed a self-selection rule on the national fraternities. Something near 90% of al the men were in fraternities, but that mattered not to the radical social engineers.
Some nationals left the univerity fraternity housing; some stayed on under the new rule. basically, they have rush and the chapter has to take anyone who wants in. I suppose there's no exclusivity at all, but I don't really know.

Echoing what Sen said, some service GLOs do - in a way. For instance, in Omega Phi Alpha, everyone who so desires is allowed to pledge. We will not bar you from pledging a service organization - if you want to make a commitment to community service, alright. But just because you get a bid, if you do not meet your pledge requirements and put in the work to actually show that commitment, you are NOT going to be initiated - MEMBERSHIP is not guaranteed, it is earned.

I'd say so. A [social] GLO is essentially a continuous group of friends bound by a ritual. I don't know about any other ritual than my own, but in my sorority ritual reminds us of our common values. Logically speaking, you can't have a set of values AND all-inclusivity. One of those must go.

ETA: I just totally makes me when I hear a campus administration denounce Greek Life because it is a culture of exclusivity. Do colleges take anyone who applies? Hell no. In all honesty, Greeks do want to grow the size of the Greek community, but (except for Tufts) no individual chapter can be forced to take a particular potential member.

One of my friends went to Bowdoin, which did away with Greeks for this reason. They do have co-ed "social houses" that everyone joins, but you're assigned to one as I understand it. Sorry, I choose my friends, I don't need to be assigned to them.
