New Year's Party Dresses!!
I need some help... I'm going to a very trendy place for NY'07 with a very handsome guy (woohooo!!) and so naturally, I'd like to look stunning
I'm considering the following dress from Banana Republic to ring in the New Year... what do you think? Any other suggestions?
Shoes? Accessories? Dress me! Or just post pictures of beautiful party dresses!

tp - I'm not sure that's the right dress for the event. Maybe it's the way she's standing, but it looks like it flows out too much from the empire waist - looking a bit maternity-ish. I've seen pics of you and from what I recall you have a great figure. If I were you, I'd go with something that shows that off a bit more. You specifically said "trendy" about the place, and that dress doesn't strike me as having much "wow" factor. JMO.

I had assumed NY party would be shishi. (However that's spelled.) Based on what Kathy said I like these two from Banana.

I saw the top one in person at Banana Republic last night. It's made out of a weird corduroy/velvet fabric and looks pretty bad up close.

J Crew is always my first choice for party dresses. Trendy, but not too trendy.

So I just realized this is a New Year's Party. I read the orignal post as a New York New Year's Eve Party!

I'm partial to this one... It's cute in the picture, at least!

I am looking for a NYE dress as well to wear to a fancy party in St. Louis, I don't have any cute cocktail dresses (mainly b/c I've never had anywear to wear them before now) and while Nordstrom has some really beautiful things, I just can't see myself spending (or even HAVING for that matter) $600 on a dress. So suggestions are definitely welcome, (especially if it's in a color other than black since all my other nice dresses are black).

Ann Taylor LOFT has some fabulous black holiday dresses right now for under $150 (I think they start at under $100). They also have some great shoes and purses to match! Check it out.

I posted this a while ago, but I love it so much. I got it for $35 at Banana Republic. It's in the sale section of their website right now for $59...loooovee it so much. The length is perfect.
I need to find a nice wrap to go with it. I got a fabulous pair of bronze heels to go with the whole thing.
