i know im behind, but question about the book "pledged"

i know the book came out forever ago and i've already viewed past threads on this topic, but anyways i just read the book because i thought it might be interesting since i'm going to be rushing in about a week.

my question is just out of curiousity and since it's been a couple years since most the responses to the other threads were posted - but does anyone know what school the book took place at and what the real chapters were? i know everywhere it says that the girls don't want to reveal themselves because of fear they'd have to disaffiliate... and maybe this is a REALLY dumb question but..

if they were going to get caught wouldn't it have already happend/wouldn't it be pretty easy for people who were in their chapter to realize? i mean i'm sure someone from one of the sororities they were in have read the book at one point right? wouldn't it be pretty easy to tell if one of those girls were in your chapter and that the book was based on your house? especially if you flipped to the back cover and realized the author was a girl that one of your sisters always brought over to the house and introduced as just a non-greek friend or something??? i mean not to be discriminative, but especially in sabrina's case since she was one of 2 african american girls in her house. if she was in my house and i read the book i would figure it would be pretty easy to connect the dots and be like "umm this sounds exactly like my house and i'm pretty sure sabrina is actually so and so and omg wait let me flip to the back cover. gee isn't the author of this book the girl that 'sabrina' always brought to the house and told us she was a friend that was non-greek?" or have the girls really slipped by and had the luck of no one in their houses reading the book and catching on to something which i would imagine would be pretty obvious.

Everything you're asking has been asked in all of the other Pledged threads and the answers are still the same. Everyone can speculate about where but no one knows for sure. Starting that discussion here is pointless because it's just back and forth speculation.
