Indiana University's Recruitment doesn't officially start until December but none-the-less, I am extremely excited!! Any alumni out there with advice, insight, or stories would be greatly appreciated! I can't wait! Go Hoosiers!

Get great grades this semester and meet as many Greek women as you can. And get recs.

Try searching for recruitment stories using the terms "Indiana" and "Recruitment". There have been a handful of recent Indiana stories. Also, read the general advice thread. It's really comprehensive. If you have any specific questions, shoot. Good luck.

i went through it at IU, but dropped out of recruitment and ended up transferring. if you read the alabama and auburn recruitment threads, there's good advice there. i'd say that it's just as competitive there as it is in the south. i think roughly 1600 girls went through last year according to one of my friends from high school.

the first two days are excruciating..19 houses in two days. of course, it's always FREEZING cold. during 19 party you will be given a tshirt & are encouraged to wear tennis shoes & jeans.

recs are important as well. good luck!

Make sure you belong to (and are active in) at least two high-profile organizations where you can meet MANY students, not just Greek. This will help twofold: You will recognize more Actives during recruitment AND you will have more to talk about with the Actives.

As the others have said, make sure your grades are stellar as IU is competitive and you are an upperclassmen.
