Classroom Economies

Any teachers out there ever have a classroom economy in their room? I'm hoping to set one up this fall and have read the million threads on other boards, but was wondering if anyone had actual experience with doing it or doing homeworkopoly with upper elementary grades? I'm curious how it worked out, what the time commitment was for the teacher, etc.
