Requiem for a Dream
Damn, Have you guys seen this flick?
It's so incredibly insane, yet phenominal
....The work of a mad-scientist!!!
The camera angles...
The plot parallels...
Phenominal, quite simply
I advise getting Fucked up while watching it

Honey, you don't need to be fucked up to watch it, the movie'll do that for you!
My favourite sequence has to be the phone-and-fly bits going from n.y. to london and back

Most depressing ending to a movie ever!! That being said, it was quite brilliant in places.
Have either of you seen Pi - the director's first major film. I loved that movie! It's about finding patterns in seemingly random distributions with a little Dedalaus legend thrown in.

Veruca, I had anticipated being a math major
I opted for engineering, nevertheless
Of course I've seen the movie Pi
Another Brilliant flick
My query is thus:
Is there any degree of truth to the Jesuit name of n letters?
I know it's not because of what is stated in the film
*note: I'm drunk so this may not be legible, and yes it's 6:30 but I just finished all my finals, so of course I'm celebrating.....

Requiem was the most intense, disturbing and fucked up movie I've seen. I know it's one of those movies where not every type of person would enjoy it, and I don't like that kind of movie in general...(so i wont buy it on dvd)but I do appreciate it and the art in it. LoL I probably would have appreciated it more if I indeed watched while I was fucked up. Maybe I should rent it again when I go back to school
PS: Jared Leto is still a babe

Baby, by saying goodbye"

Requiem is the kind of movie no one leaves without being deeply disturbed. It depends on the kind of person you are to determine whether or not you'll actually enjoy it. Some people revel in it, while others shudder and walk away. There's lots of ways to describe it, from the simple "fucked up" to "the best anti-drug commercial out there".
But no one leaves unaffected.

That movie tore me up just watching it. I almost cried for that girl @ the bachelor party she seemed so pathetic & strung out. If you've ever gotten into drugs too much, well watch this it'll make ya wanna stop, think a 'lil bit.

2 thumbs up from Liz the critic, lol. Ok, I watched it last night after I got the sudden urge to go rent it at 10:30 Anyways, it was a very intriguing movie to say the least. The person I felt the most sorry for was Jared Leto's character's mother. That was so incredibly sad Actually, I felt sorry for every single one of them. How terrible to be in any of their positions. If there's any more responses for this post, I'd like to pose a question for everyone. Say you were in one of their individual positions, whose would it be? I think I would either pick dude from Scary Movie or the girl, b/c I think they have the best chance of recovering and changing their lives. Probably more dude from Scary Movie than the girl. She was going to some MAJOR EXTREMES to feed her addiction. Anyways, sorry this got so long.

As far as requiem....
The parallels between the downward spirals of addiction between the mother and son are absolutely brilliant.....the cinematography with recurring scenes of the eyes and the drugs when they're shooting up is great, as is the scene where Damon Wayans and his gf are in bed together.....the simple, but terrifyingly sad life of Leto's mother...the essence of her being a low-life when in the subway and hospital despite her being a very nice, even reasonably attractive older lady absolutely kills me.
It's not the scenes like his arm that disturb me, but his gf's desperation, the trying to get ahead, but can't quite do it, but mostly the sadness of his mother who only wants to be beautiful again and make her son happy and get her husband back for one more moment.....

I have to say, I want to rent this movie. Y'all have noted some nteresting aspects of the film. SigmaChiCard, you could be a critic!
Love most anything that's "off the wall" and stimulates you to think past the credits...
Still like the silly stuff too!
