I've heard that when giving a person a white rose their are special ways to do this. I've heard of some brothers tying ribbons around the rose stem in the order as follows with colors of purple, green and gold. Does anyone know if there is an official way to give a white rose to a sweetheart or girlfriend?

I once gave a white rose to my girlfriend (now fiance). I tied it to
the official flower of her fraternity, Lambda Kappa Sigma (Pharmaceutical
Professional). It was a yellow chrysanthemum. She loved it. It was
simple, with some scattered babies' breath, and a white ribbon tied
around the two of them.
The gift I gave with it was a lavalier of her fraternity letters and ours around
a simple gold chain...combining the two.
Feel free to swipe the idea -- but beware, I've heard of some chapters torturing
guys that lavalier their girlfriends...taping them to a tree and paintballing them
etc.
