Cliches and Screw Ups
Okay, so I was watching a 90210 re-run with my sister last night and it happned to be the episode where they were rushing Alpha O and KEG house. I was just laughing and shaking my head at all the inaccuracies (ex: the president from Alpha House would never have visited Andrea in her dorm room before bids were handed out...hello! no contact policy!). What cliches and screwed up plots about Greeks have you noticed in the media?

KEG House? too funny.
my favorite greek innacuracy is in the movie "The Brotherhood". Apart from wearing their membership pins ALL THE TIME (even on tshirts, ick), there was a fraternity on campus called "Doma Tau Omega". Yes, they made up a greek letter.

i mentioned this in one of the forums but i rented sugar n spice (teenybopper chick flick) and it had a scene where the cheerleaders were arguing and the head cheerleader goes, "we're not acting like cheerleaders, we're acting like sorority girls!" hello, where did THAT come from?

That NEVER happens...non-passengers are not allowed past security without a boarding pass!
Same with people greeting people RIGHT at the gate as they're deplaning....you have to meet people at the luggage carousel thingy or in the chute where the passengers walk out of...you can't just walk up to the gate and go "hi!"
Actually, at some airports they still allow you to meet people at the gate..Just an FYI

Also, has anyone seen the outakes from Road Trip where the girls of "Kappa Lambda" are doing the "circling the fat" ritual? I'm suprised they didn't put that in the movie, but you may notice that the girl, Tiffany, does have a marker in her hand when she's talking to Beth (Amy Smart).

Everytime I watch this movie I do notice that Tiffany is walking around with a marker in her hand. I guess I should watch the outakes!!

I'd definetly say that it depends on the airport, like at Kansas City International all the individual gates have their own security check points and so you can stroll through a rotunda type area w/o a boarding pass. And at some of the gates you deplane right in to this area next to the individual luggage carasoul for your plane.

American Pie
In the scene where Stifler takes a girl upstairs. The beer cup with the "secret sauce" is a clear party cup. In the next scene the cup turns blue and then Stifler eventually chugs the beer from a clear cup.

Prior to September 11, Detroit Metro Airport allowed people without tickets all the way to the gate. Sometimes they didn't let people past the metal detectors, which was a hassle because when you have family coming in from Italy on a huge Alitalia 7-something-7, there are like hundreds of other greeters standing directly outside the detectors. I've heard that now people aren't even allowed IN the airport itself. I know it's a security issue, but if I'm goin on a big trip, or a trip at all, I want my parents there at the gate when I leave.
Other than that and back on topic, I hate when you're watching a movie and you just know what is going to happen. I was watching crank yankers last nite, and they showed a "sorority house", and then a dorm-like building behind it with a "girl" who got crabs from gettin a bikini wax. The "girl", was obviously a sorority girl. Why else would they show the house with letters on it? I knew it was gona have to be something having to do with one of the stereotypes.
