Post fav dave song

so, dave matthews band is touring again, and i know there are a lot of dave fans out there. i can't wait to see him august 1 in hershey,pa!
my question is, to the dave fans, what is your favorite dave song(s) and why, if you choose to say so? also, do you have a least favorite dave song?

my favorite:
#41
I'll Back You Up (great lyrics)
Christmas Song (it's about jesus!)
Crash Into Me(who doesn't love it)
Ants Marching (something happened and this song was playing, so it holds a special meaning, and it just makes me happy)
Crush (also has special meaning)

least favorite:
i have never been a big fan of Too Much...

GREAT TOPIC. I saw Dave four times in one week in May. Dodger Stadium in L.A., both shows in Vegas, and a private show for about 75 people in Vegas on Saturday afternoon. It was amazing! I may go to the Salt Lake City shows at the end of August too. I am a total groupie/Davehead!

My favorites change all the time--but include:

Two Step
Say Goodbye
I'll back you up
#41
Grace is Gone
Granny
Recently
Crush
Bartender
Everyday/36 mix--from Vegas show--it was INCREDIBLE!
Warehouse
Tripping Billies

I pretty much like every song, just some better than others!

I'll Back you Up,
#41 &
#40 are the best

Along with those however come
Crush,
Spoon(special reason)
Lover Lay Down
Let You Down
Best of What's Around
Police (alt lyrics of #41)
Song that Jane Likes
Two Step

Rhyme& Reason is the only song I don't really care for that much

Really, I like just about anything he's ever played written before this crappy cd he just put out...I need to get the LillyWhite sessions so he redeems himself in my eyes

SigmaChiCard,

I'm glad that somebody other then me likes Let You Down. I love that song because it's the song that got me hooked on DMB in the first place

Other favorites:
Best Of What's around
Two Step
Pay For What You Get
Stay
If I Had It All
Fool To Think
Crash in to Me
Everyday/36 mix
One Sweet World

Least favorites:
Halloween
Rhyme and Reason
So Right
AGDsexysmoker,
I started a thread called Leslie and Amycat and it's mostly about how much we love Dave. I'll bring it up and and you can tell us how you got interested in Dave

Amycat,

I'm so upset. Dave is coming to Texas next Sunday (July 15th) and guess who doesn't have the funds to go. I'm hoping that get lots and lots of birthday money(my birthday is next Friday) so that I can see the show. Jazzfest was good, but I want more

Cool

Crash Into Me - CD was given to me by my boyfriend just as we were starting to date and this song has always been special to me bc of it
Say Goodbye - love the words, haven't we all felt that way about a friend sometime?
Lover Lay Down - beautiful words
The Space BTWN - the video just captivates me whenever I see it

I haven't seen them in concert in way too long

prospective rushee: get to texas anyway you can! once is not enough for dave this summer. for me, the last show I saw, Sunday night of memorial day weekend was the best of ANY DMB show I've seen yet--and I've caught every tour that's come thru the west coast for about the last 5 or 6 years. I even got some up close pics of dave at the private acoustic show!!

check out this set list tho-it was an amazing show that sunday night in las vegas!

Tripping Billies
Granny
Satellite
I Did It
If I Had It All
So Right
Seek Up
JTR
Sleep To Dream Her
Grey Street
The Space Between
Jimi Thing
When The World Ends
Angel
Minarets
So Much To Say
Too Much
Long Black Veil
Watchtower

and the night before:
Don’t Drink the Water
#41
Rhyme & Reason
What Would You Say
Angel
When The World Ends
The Space Between
Fish Monkey Man
Bartender
Warehouse
True Reflections
Recently
Digging a Ditch
What You Are
Fool To Think
Everyday/#36--this one was SO AMAZING--they were ending the song-but the audience kept singing "Honi Honi, come and dance with me" and it went on with the audience singing, the bang just jamming and the lovely ladies chiming in for about 15 minutes.
encore was:
Grace Is Gone
Stay

And, finally, the acoustic show on sat afternoon 5/26 at the blue note in las vegas:
When the World Ends
Bartender
Space Between
Stone (w. I can't help falling in love)
Don't Drink Water (w/ this land is your land…)
Grace is Gone
Watchtower

The L.A. show was VERY heavy on the Everyday tracks, so I'll skip that one here, since the Vegas shows were so amazing!

when i posted this topic, i only named a few of the songs i love of his. i absolutely love When the World Ends. my friend has a theory that it is about a orgasm (listen to the words, it actually makes sense!), plus a lot of others that everyone named.

amycat-- if it's possible, could you scan some of your upclose dave pictures onto greekchat? i would LOVE to see them! i tried to take some at hershey last year by getting on top of my boyfriend's shoulders, but all i got was a few bright lights ... also, how much were the tickets to his concert for only 75 peeps?

i know a few years ago (1999) he came to IUP and played for about 2,000 people...rumor had it that he was supposed to come every other year to our school... no luck on that one. does anyone know if he will be touring colleges again?

thanks!

I used to be really into Dave when I was in high school (and an aspiring hipster), but not so much anymore. These are solid, classic tracks.

I have never actually seen the entire DMB in concert, but when I was 15 I went to the Dave/Tim Reynolds acoustic thing, and it was awesome. I am a little Dave-ed out right now, but I really like the new "Space Between" song. So here's my list:

Seek Up (reminds me of my senior year in HS, which was just an awesome time of my life)
The Song That Jane Likes
One Sweet World
Trippin Billies (the Remember Two Things version; the first DMB song I ever heard. I was 11, and my sister played it. This was before Under the Table came out)
Best of What's Around (a special song for me and one of my best friends)
Two Step
Spoon
Stone
Say Goodbye
Lover Lay Down
I'll Back You Up (just an amazing song!)
Crash Into Me

I have 2 beefs with Dave. 1) I hate "What Would You Say." What a horrible song. 2) What is up with his videos? They're all weird. "Crash Into Me" is an amazing song, and the video ruined it. His newest video is weird, too. Other than that, I can't say anything bad about Dave.

Actually the private show was free. The Warehouse called my brother (who lives in LV) and told him he was one of 5 lucky Warehouse members to be chosen to go to the show. It was a radio station concert by an LA radio station--winners were flown to LV, stayed at the Aladdin, saw the private show, saw the Sat nite Vegas show and flown back to LA. Then the Warehouse decided to draw 5 members at random to attend as well and my brother was one of them!
