Cell Phones
I just switched from my old crappy analog service to digital and I got a cool Nokia 5165 phone. I'm all excited about being able to download ringtones and change the faceplates!
What kind of phones do ya'll have? Anyone have any good suggestions for where to download ringtones? What colors/faceplates do you have?

I have a QualCom Digital with Verizon Wireless. It's flat but cool. In March I got a green face plate with a money symbol holigram. It was annoying though because I had a hard time seeing when I wanted to dial...especially in the sun.
Then about a month ago I got it switched and now have a red face plate with NO holigram. I LOVE it.

Right now I have one of those Samsung silver dual-band flip top phones with a plan through Sprint. I can't remember the style, but it does have voice-activated dialing and a mini browser. I don't think I have the option of changing the face plate, but it's okay because I like the silver and not changing the plate will save me money! The phone itself cost a lot of money, but so far it's been more reliable than my old Nokia was. The reception is also better!
The BF also has a phone from Sprint...his phone's better because it has better games...not just your standard "Snake", but he has football, blackjack, dice, and Sequence...which is similar to that Simon game. That phone's come in handy at many boring times!
FYI: Sprint has that fabulous friend referral program. You don't even have to refer a friend to get $10 off your monthly bill. If you use the #10 option on your Sprint phone, punch in your Sprint phone number and another active Sprint number, both you and the other person can get $10 off. They say that there's a $100 limit to that referral program...but so far they haven't cut me off yet!

My phone is a... something. Lesse. It... rings. Sometimes. Like, when it's on, but not all the time. Sometimes someone says "Hey, I called you!" But, see, I have no way of knowing that because my phone is the bare essential cell phone. No voicemail, no caller ID, no number storage. It just calls. And rings. Sometimes.
(yeah, yeah. It was a gift from my parents for christmas. You know. "For emergencies?" I have to get a card... Yeah! That's it! Verizon wireless! Ha. Knew I'd think of it.)

Question: does anyone else get pissed off at people with cell phones from time to time?
Don't get me wrong, I have one too (mostly for emergencies and calling for pizza ) but I think cell-phone-mania is getting out of control!!! For example, crazy cell phone drivers (you know who you are) and people that don't turn their phones off at the movies...anybody with me?

I have a Nokia 5165. I had an Errikkson (sp?), but i was running in from the rain one night, dropped it and didn't know. by the time someone found it the next morning, the battery was shorted out and someone had run over it and busted the screen. Anyway, I like the Nokia better, but I've seen a lot of people have problems with the batteries becoming loose on them. You can download ringtones at http://www.yourmobile.com My current ring is Johnny Cash "I Walk the Line". I don't have any options like voice mail or caller ID. I'm too cheap.
I hate it when people have their phones on and they ring in restaurants and movie theaters, and then instead of just turning them off, they answer them and talk. Sometimes I think some people that are walking around the mall or wherever or riding in their car talking on the phone aren't really talking to anyone, just trying to look cool. They outlawed talking on cell phones while driving in New York, unless you have the handsfree setup.

I have to same Nokia phone as everyone else. Guess what my battery is loose, and it is always making the phone turn off, which is a pain in the ass. I am surprised my phone still works though. It has had the ride of its life. I have dropped it down the house steps before, lost it at a party and found it on the floor of a fraternity house the next day, and had the screen broken. I have a silver cover, and all the options, but my bill is so high all the time. People call me all the time on it, just to say meet me for lunch at the cafe. I use mine all the time, but mostly for emergencies, such as calling friends to let them know what house I am at, or what bar to meet me at. I am one of those annoying cell phone people, but at least I can admit it.

I have a digital Startac and I like it! This is my second phone and my first one was crappy (Audiovox) On this one I have voice mail, caller id and can receive email! Never leave home without it! And LeslieAGD I don't want to think that I am one of those drivers....but my parents bought me an ear peice to hook into my phone so I can talk while I drive. I look like a crazy receptionist who didn't have the time to take out the mic at the office!

I have a red Nokia 8200. People always ask me how I keep from loosing it, it's tiny. I have caller ID, voice mail, call waiting, a zillion rings, vibrate alert. I need that caller ID & voice mail because my parents won't get call waiting & my 16 year old sister is always on the phone. I just give my cell number to people because there's no way you'll get through to my house.

Is there anywhere I can get new ringtones for my Nokia in the US?? The webpage that was mentioned before was only for Cingular customers. I use Alltel. All the pages I've browsed seemed to be in the UK or Australia! Anyone have any ideas?

Ewwwwwww, Alltel. They bought out the company I was with about a month after I signed on with them (coincidence, eh?). It was cellular service and it was horrible. They would deny a problem whenever I would complain (like once a week). Basically, they fattened up the client list before the sale of the business, and then had too many people for the towers to handle. It was constant static, constant cross talk, and constant missed calls because the phone would not ring.
Try www.cellphoneuser.com for some ringtones. Search Google or Yahoo for "Nokia ringtones"

remember, I'm in South GEORGIA (yeehaw)- Alltel has great coverage in our area. My bf has a business plan, so it makes it even better. (I'm just a 15 buck addon)
I did a search for Nokia ringtones
Most (like 85%) were available in other countries, while the other sites had ringtones for other providers, (cingular)
BOO!!

I had to have the Nokia 8260 the first time I saw it. My best friend works for Cingular so I got a good deal on it (already had service from them). I have everything on it except e-mail (that's a bit much even for me!). I love it even though it is small. I'm notorious for losing stuff, but I've never lost it b/c I usually just slide it in my pocket or its always in my bag. Thanks to my boyfriend the 5 downloadable ring tones are full--my current one is "Big Pimpin" but I change almost every week.

I have the Nokia 8260 with an AT&T one rate plan. I don't use it if I drive...mostly because I don't have a car. The only time I guess I might look annoying with it is if someone decides to be funny and call me during class. Everyone gets pissed. I still have yet to figure out how to download ring tones or logos to it.
