My question is...
Is it that we as college-educated African Americans are not going back to teach those that these events are not appropriate? (I.e. moving our families out of predominately black neighborhoods to the suburbs)
OR
Is it that the uneducated choose to remain uneducated? (thus repeating the cycle)

College-educated or not, all it takes is having a little common sense, but some people lack that. If they knew about slavery, I am pretty sure they know how that word was used.

My question is if it is a Black Arts Fest, where the hell is all the art, dancing and music ( well I heard a little Tupac in the background, and funny that the song that was playing was "Shed so many tears")? Maybe there was dancing and they had to censor that part of the festival!

I could only sit through 2 mins of this nonsense. I would love to know where things went from "Black Arts Festival" to "N***a Day". I mean seriously? The mentality that is displayed is what bothers me more than anything. Its like they have no ambition to do anything with themselves.

It also shows how generational a mindset of hopelessness, ignorance or just plain lack of knowledge (and I'm not speaking of JUST being college educated) can be. Both people old and young refers to this day as such and have stated that they have a called it N-Day for over 20 years.

I don't know what upsets me most - the fact that they proudly call it N-Day or the fact that I'm seeing these people STILL living in shot gun houses and its dag near 2008.
