Zeta Beta Tau Sanctions Maryland Chapter

The U of Maryland's campus paper has the report:

http://media.www.diamondbackonline.c...-3141622.shtml

Brief excerpts:

. . . the chapter's executive board members have been removed and placed on probation [by the fraternity] for the rest of their undergraduate careers.

The new executive board must have their actions approved by alumni trustees. They are also ineligible for awards from the national organization and must document that they are obeying the sanctions. . . .

The chapter will have to pay for the investigation and an anti-hazing speaker and brochure.

These guys are in essense a good group. They won ZBT's best chapter award (the Brummer cup) a few years ago. I think they're addressing the issue the best way possible, bring in new leadership because these leaders clearly didn't understand that ZBT isn't about this crap. Hopefully this will improve the chapter for the long term when they realize they don't need hazing to have a brotherhood.

I agree. There is no such thing as bad brothers, just bad decission makers. Hopefully with a new leadership in place, the these bothers will now understand the true value of ZBT and realize the importance of the Brotherhood Code of Ethics.

ZBT: "Inspring today's college men to become leaders of tomorrow."

Re:Zeta Beta Tau Sanctions Maryland Chapter

Hope the issue gets resolved soon. The members in probation should prove themselves and get back to work as soon as possible. Only when the team works as a whole there can be full productivity. This will help in the firm's productivity.
