Lids making Greek Letter hats!

I bought a black fitted hat yesterday with letters on the front. They are a pretty good deal for getting 1 offs. I you are looking for a quantity they can give you a discount.

Are they licensed? You might want to check through the licensing site on the web. If not, you should probably shoot an email off to IHQ.

Sorry to be the party pooper

ETA: I checked, they're not licensed. Since you have all the details, I'd strongly encourage you to send a general description of what you found, that you know they're not licensed, etc. to headquarters@sigmanu.org. It may be nothing, then again, it may be something.

At this point all they are doing is greek letters and they can not get into licensing issues due to this fact. I would argue that they did not put the letters together until a member of the Fraternity (me) went to them and said "hey do you have a greek letter font." They made me a hat and I will wear that hat.

I don't see a problem with what they are doing. They are actually providing a service to Fraternities by producing "1 off" hats thus the reason for my post. To let other brothers know that there was an option out there to get hats with the Greek Letters Sigma and Nu out there.

Sorry to barge in, but I actually had a conversation with a high up from my sorority about this recently. I got an embroidered keychain that has ASA on it from a company that isn't licensed for us. She said that because it's a custom-made item that an individual member requested, it was ok for them to use our greek letters, however, if they wanted to start carrying ASA keychains as part of their regular selection, then they would have to buy the license to be allowed to sell them.

That was my point exactly. I don't think nationals would be offended if they are making items to order. It is a different story if an item is in stock and in their regular inventory.
