Planning A Mountain/Beach Weekend in the South

I am the current social chair for my Kappa Sigma Chapter and i was wondering if anybody had any ideas of where to hold a Mountain Weekend or Beach Weekend. We are in South Carolina. Any ideas would be great.

You live in South Carolina and don't know where to hold a beach weekend? Interesting.

For the mountains - what do you want to do when you get there? Fish? Canoe? Raft? Ski? What time of year? How many people? How close to civilization must you be? Do you need fancy accommodations or do you prefer rustic? Are you bringing girls? There are some good places in Western North Carolina that we've done weekends away, but it all depends on what you want to accomplish while you are there as to what would be suitable.

If you've gotta get out of SC, but still want to hit the beach AND camp, head north to VA. Right near ODU's campus, you've got First Landing State Park (along the Chesapeake Bay). You can camp, fish, hike, chill at the beach, and have a nice big bonfire right there on the water.
