This could get interesting...

Our favorite author in the whole world, Alexandra Robbins, </sarcasm> will visit Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis tomorrow. As much as I would love to voice my opinion to her about her book Pledged, I'm in the midst of a move and won't be able to attend.

Side note: I wonder if the whole DePauw mess is going to come up in her Q&A session. After all, Ms. Robbins is an EXPERT on Greek life...

Oh isn't she sweet. Hope the Jesuits toss her out on her ear.

The topic of discussion is probably:

THE OVERACHIEVERS:
THE SECRET LIVES OF DRIVEN KIDS

A. Robbins calls herself a journalist? She could sensationalize toothpaste.

I'm sure the audience will be able to ask her "characters" questions because she probably made them up.

This made me LOL. I'm not a nun, but I've played one on stage.

They had her on CNN tonite as a follow up story to the whole DZ train wreck at Depauw. I cringed when I saw that they were interviewing her and looking for opinions from her.

The book focuses on the "shadowy world" of helicopter parents, the 2400 SAT/4.0+ GPA/million APs/found the answer to world peace/won the Intel Award students. It primarily draws on students' experiences from an affluent high school in Montgomery County (DC suburb).

They actually interviewed her on CNN about this DZ situation?? Wow, I thought CNN was credible enough to check their sources.

*sigh*

Why don't they actually interview a newspaper reporter/alum of a social GLO--a credible journalist with an authentic undergrad Greek experience? Not every alum has to state who they are an alum of to give a "Greek" viewpoint or religiously state the public relations party line of their organization. There are some levelheaded members of Greek organizations out there!

The video segment with Robbins is on the MSNBC website. At least it was yesterday.
