Michael's amuse bouche is #1

Interesting, Amusing, funny moments....
Frank telling Marcel that he would beat him so bad his mother couldn't identify him b/c Marcel moved his toothbrush from the counter to the floor
The firehouse challenge, Betty vs. Marcel.
Thanksgiving....what kind of salad was Carlos making for 4 hrs? LOL
The ice cream challenge...bacon and avocado ice-cream, yuck!!
Anything that Mike did, its funny that he's still there even though there are chefs much better than him that have been eliminated.

yeah these drama queens outdo my project runway folks in the overreaction department, lol.
The show is always faintly dissatisfying though- I can't taste the food!

Soror Lovelyivy84- this show really makes me hungry after watching it! I'm going to try making the strawberries with bacon canape for our Christmas brunch.
Most memorable moments of Top Chef history to date:
Betty telling Marcel to sit the f**k down and listen
Mia v. Cliff- put your d**k away
Season 1- Dave to Tiffany: "I'm not your bitch, bitch."

Okay, another episode comes on tonight!
Last week's show--SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
Betty left and I'm glad. She was really annoying me.
I hope that Marcel leaves tonight. Michael is bringing the noise and the funk. LOVING IT!

Yeah, saw the episode where Cliff had Marcel in a full nelson! Well, Cliff saved himself from being voted off becuause of his uninspiring steak dish. In this Marcel was right: Cliff tried to play it safe and really never tried to be creative and push the gastronomic envelope.

I feel like I need to play catch-up
So I haven't posted about the show in a while. But today, I'm having a day of rest, I figured I would...
Ilan
He didn't have to slam Marcel's dish like he did a couple of episodes back. After the restraunt challenge, I see that he definitely needs to stick to the "back of the house"
Marcel
You know, I guess I can blame the editing because it doesn't seem to ME that Marcel is that big of a nuisance. For the "7 Deadly Sins" challenge, he's the one who initiated the idea of helping each other serve. And when he "snapped" at Betty, I didn't think it was really that bad. Also, Sam couldn't get mad when that man had to be sure that he would be ready to serve. He looked so pitiful when Cliff was manhandling him. But I will say that his rhyming skills are weak.
Cliff
I don't like him. He seems so arrogant. After he acted an azz with Mia, I was completely finished with him. For that challenge, I think he should've been the team leader since he had immunity and if I was on that team, I would've said that. And sure, Mia didn't have to drone on about her hard life, but since she did, he didn't have to be rude--"Are you done yet?" GUESS WHAT SUCKA?? YOU ARE!!! Sure it was a joke with Marcel, but he went waaaay too far.
Betty
If this was "America's Next Top Caterer" she would've had a shot but I don't think she should've lasted as long as she did. And WTH was she thinking putting that nasty-looking soup in a wine flute?? If she was going with the whole "drinking soup" thing (which, by the way, is a disgusting notion and that's why I can't get with that Campbell's "heat and sip" isht), she should've at least used margarita glasses.
Mike
I was glad that he got a bit of glory before going out. I will say that his drink for the Bailey's challenge looked the best and it left me salivating! I love Baileys. I love toffee. The combination of the two seemed like a match made in drunkard heaven!!!
Sam
Uh... moving on
Elia
I think Elia is adorable and I like the fact that she has never jumped on the "Let's hate Marcel" bandwagon. At the beginning, I didn't peg her as a finalist but I'm happy that she's made it.
The 7 Deadly Sins Challenge
I felt like everyone dropped the ball on that one. Ilan's dish looked majorly gross! Wet funnel cake?? As an avid fair attendee, I must say that the thought of funnel cake as anything but crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle with ONLY powdered sugar, I was disgusted! With the gluttony sin, he could've done SO much more. Cliff and Mike's dishes seemed a bit too conceptualized but Mike won, so hey! Marcel's dish looked like something that I don't want to say because I don't want to offend anyone. Let's just say that it looked like the product of a female body function and leave it at that.
The shaved head thing
Ilan looks cute with his shaved head. I actually think he's a cute guy but what's up with his walk??
The Restraunt Challenge
WTH were they thinking by serving ONE chicken bone covered in BBQ sauce and coffee????? And was that ONE HALF of a regular sized oreo cookie with lemon curd on it????? Watermelon with Asiago cheese??? What's wrong with them? That just sounds nasty!!
I think I covered everything... You know, I can watch this show over and over and over. Every time a marathon is on and I don't have anything to do, I watch. If I were voting for fan favorite, I think I would choose Frank because he just seemed mad cool to me, although Sam will probably get it because he is supposedly sexy (not to me)

Wow @ last night's episode! I can't believe it!
MeezDiscreet: I'm going to respond to your post when I have time because you made some really good points.
I love this show. When are they going to show the reunion piece?

These people are actually making me LIKE Marcel.
I have known a LOT of guys like him who deep-down are nice and funny, but so insecure that all they can do is keep up the uber-arrogant front. I think that when he grows up a little and gains some confidence he'll be cool- he seems to have a sense of humor (has to with that hair) and wit that'll serve him well.
The behavior of the other chefs in CONSTANTLY ganging up on him really turned me off. What was the point of that statement Elia made last night? If there was cheating she should have said something when it happened. Giving a half-ass non-specific complaint to the judges at the 11th hour realllly made her look desperate and bad. And I loved how Ilan and Sam, who were supposed to be in there with her stopped saying anything and let her be the one to hang herself, lol.
Also- could not be less interested in the finale now, lol. Once again, the problem with this show is I can't taste the food- I have no objective way of judging who is better other than going on judges opinions that could easily be biased or influenced by producers.

I think Ilan is going to win. I've thought that from the beginning.
