A Christmas tree at a Worcester Polytechnic Institute fraternity house is the subject of an investigation. The local paper has a story with picture:

I’ve probably watched too many episodes of “CSI” and “CSI: Somewhere Else,” but couldn’t tree-ring matching or plant DNA be used for a positive tree-to-stump ID?

The risk management issue here would include dealing with possible charges and, if required, any fine$ or re$titution.
