Talking What makes you proud to be a XO?

Among countless other things- the message board "What house are you in" - under Greek Life. So many Chi O's have posted on it and it is great to see the pride!

I was also thrilled to see all the Chi O's on that thread!!

Im so proud of XO for so many reasons. We have such an incredible sisterhood, a rich tradition, and i personally love the symphony!

It makes me so happy that when I visit other schools, my sisters welcome me into their chapter houses and make me feel at home!!

Love in XO
Emily

What makes me proud to be a Chi Omega can't simply be expressed in a little log entry on here. My pride is evident when my chapter wins Scholarship every year and how we've won that award more than any other greek organization on campus. It makes me proud to be a Chi Omega when we also win the Outstanding Active member at the Greek Week banquet. It makes me proud that during Recruitment all the girls want to belong to Chi Omega even though they don't know anything about us, other than what they see if four nights.
It makes me proud to be a Chi Omega every time I run across an alumna who asks me if the chapter is still excelling in scholarship and campus activities. It makes me extreamly proud to be a Chi Omega when we give back to the community and help others.
These are just a few reasons why I am proud to be a Chi Omega. I think most of all are the words that are portrayed in our Symphony. I have taken the words in the Symphony to heart and have decided to live the rest of my life by them...because I have always felt that way. I trully was born to be a Chi-O!

I agree with Hootie ! There are so many incredible things that make Chi Omega the best sorority! We have such a strong sisterhood across the nation, wonderful traditions, and a bond that I know will last the rest of our lives! I love knowing that my chapter is perceived as having it all- intelligence, beauty, diversity, and class! I think that definition applies to almost every Chi O I have ever met and it makes me feel so happy and warm inside to think that we have over 240,000 sisters across the nation! Also, the symphony can still bring tears to my eyes- it is incredible and I knew I was destined to be a Chi O the first time I heard it! I also have taken it to heart and will live the rest of my life by those words. "To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed..." Go Chi-O!

Kitty

I don't even know where to begin!! I love being a Chi Omega and so many things make me proud to be a part of such an awesome group! Maybe it's the rich history we share or maybe it's our awesome ritual!

I come from a really new chapter (we're turning 3 this year!), so I have a different perspective on things. For instance, I am the member of the 2nd Pledge Class!! I have been able to be a part of building Chi Omega at UCF. That makes me so proud, knowing that I have had a part in it. It also makes me proud knowing the founding sisters of my chapter. So much hard work goes into being a founder and I have been lucky enough to actually know the founding sisters. Buiding and starting a chapter takes so much hard work, but it makes it that much more special.

What also makes me proud is knowing that even though my chapter is still young, we're very active in the Greek Community. We've done so much in the little time that we've been here.

I guess what makes me the most proud is being part of such a strong sisterhood (I mean, look at how many of us are on this GreekChat thing!). I have met so many awesome sisters who have helped me become who I am today! I love you all!!

LICO Forever!

I have to jump on the bandwagon with everyone and go with there are so many things that make me proud to be a chi omega..but i'll make this story time too..
2 weeks ago was my schools greek week..and for the first time in 4 years, I don't think i've ever seen my house come together the way that we did, there was so much support and we won so many awards, on monday (npc badge day) I wore my badge to school..feeling kind of like a dork b/c i kind of just did it b/c it was badge day..but every time I looked down at my badge, I've never felt more proud to be a chi omega, and honored to wear the badge..
Story #2:
So I was in Las Vegas this weekend on spring break, and one of my sisters and I were at Studio 54, and we ended up dancing with these guys in a group with some girls and whatever...well I could just tell that these guys were greek..so we asked them..turned out that they were lambda chis..So we told them that we were Chi-Os..turned out the girls they were with were Chi-Os also..so we all got really excited (As girls tend to do.. ) We never caught their names..but just knowing that we shared a bond with these virtually complete strangers was just awesome to know...
Its things like this that make me so proud to be a XO..

Love in Chi Omega,
Kate

I have the same story, too, Kate. We have a condo in Destin, Florida that I go to a lot during the summers. Its amazing how many times I bump into a Chi O over there and each time, I am so impressed with the quality of the girls I meet. It really touches me to know that I am a part of something so wonderful.
