Cool. A corporation that has some balls to do what is right rather than just chasing profits. Though I'm sure it won't be hard for them to find another supplier...or for Venz. to find other places to sell their oil.

7-11 has wanted to explore cheaper gas options for awhile now and pretty much using this as a way to stir up publicity and hopefully win support with the public by claiming Chavez's statements were the reason they chose to walk away from their partnership.

CNN said that 7-11 had planned to drop Citgo before the comments, and that their spokespeople said the comments had nothing to do with it.

Well, yes, your link does say that, but your headline of "Chavez's anti-Bush comments prompted move to drop Venezuelan supplier" doesn't.

Not sure at all just what "butthurt" is, but I do believe that one's post should read as if one has taken the time to read the thread before one just jumps into posting in it....the "headline" was taken right from the articles header........

No matter that CitGo is pulling and closing independent gas stations from people who make their livlihood from these stations, I commend 7-11 for telling them to screw off no matter when they were going to do it.
How many oil companys are actually owned by USA Companys now?

I did. I was just trying to clarify that they did NOT drop Citgo because of Chavez's comments, as your header says that it was the reason.

It sucks, cause I don't get gas at Citgo's anymore, and they were often the cheapest. If only we had as many QT stations as we do BPs and Shells
