Hey-
This is just a little after thought but we just finished Blizzard Bash, our philanthropy week, and we did great, a million times better than last year. I was wondering what are some of you philanthropy activities?

I was also interested in the same thing... philanthropy ideas. We have been having problems trying to establish something that will last. we have tried a twister tournament, basketball tournament, but none of seems to really work. Any ideas on what works at your campus would help us greatly.
oh yeh, I am the assitant treasurer which means I will be taken over the treasurer's spot next year, kind of a learning position.

my philantrophy is bowling for links to literacy. we do ours around halloween, and we give the guys that are 21 free beer.
what is blizzard bash? sounds interesting....some people have paintball, soccer, mini golf, jepardy where they ask questions about our town and college life etc...those are just a few of the fun philantrophies we have participated in with other fraternities.

The Pi Phi Philanthropy here at UF is called Down-N-Dirty...every year we hold a football tournament in which fraternities and sororities alike pay to compete against each other in bracketed flag football games. We have a HUGE Kick-Off party with a talent show and then we have the football
games...everyone loves to get out there and compete against the teams that they lost against in intramurals...it's pretty competetive, but it's a fun and integrative philanthropy.

Calling Wine and Blue! I need information on Alabama Alpha, as one or both of my rising senior daughters may rush at BSC! Do you know anything? If you'd like to e-mail me privately, OTW can put you in touch!

Carnation, I'm sorry that I don't know much about Alabama Alpha, but I'll ask around. BSC is such a small school, that I don't even think I know anyone who goes there. I have a lot of friends from Birmingham though, so let me ask them. I'll be back in touch.

The Indiana Zeta's do a weeklong event called Arrowgames. All the fraternities participate in basketball, karaoke, volleyball, etc. We also do pennywars, Arrowgames king, a banner contest, and have a local DJ come to a couple of the events. The guys pay a small fee for each event they enter and other students on campus can come watch for a small fee. We also have dress up your coaches night, in which every fraternity dresses up their Arrowgames coach. We have letter violation night to see which fraternity can put their letters on their coach the most. We start the week by cooking the fraternities dinner to get them excited for the week. Before each event every night, about 5-6 girls go to each fraternity to get them excited too. We give out trophies to winners and also go around and do serenades. (We almost always get serenaded back). We also give points for fraternity members wearing our letters. We also wear our letters all week. It's a great week! SOOOO much fun. Most of the pics on our recruitment video are from Arrowgames. We always have a lot of participation. (SipEp STRONGLY encourages their new members to participate in every event for theweek.) We always raise a lot of money and its a great way to get our name out on campus.
