Anyone been to Prague?
I did a search and didn't find anything too terribly interesting.
The husband and I are trying to find a place to go in the fall. He'd love to see Prague and it definitely interests me. So, tell me what you know!
FYI - we've been to Paris, he's been to lots of places in Spain, and we don't want to go to London so please don't suggest one of those places instead of Prague!
Thanks!

OMG Prague is absolutely beautiful!!! I loved it there. I did an 11 day trip, Prague, Munich, Vienna, and Hungary and Prague was definitely my favorite of those cities. The streets are tiny so be prepared to do a lot of walking everywhere. There's a really good coffee shop across the street from the house where Franz Kafka lived. If you don't mind the travel time, you can do a similar trip and see a little bit of each country in Eastern Europe since they're so close together.

I was in Prague in October. Loved it!! It was totally worth the trip and is a must see. People kept telling me its like the Paris of Eastern Europe, I didnt buy it until I was there.
What do you want to know?

"Must sees"
What areas to stay in
Day trips (I read you can get to Vienna via the train but they might be not so reliable)
How long should we stay?
Places to stay - I don't do hostels. I don't need a 4 Seasons, but I need my own, clean, bathroom!
Also, there is a chance I might be 3-4 months prego, so while the walking won't be an issue, I might need access to bathrooms! Is the water safe?

I've been to Prague 3 times -- PM me if you need any info. I'd start by looking at www.inyourpocket.com - their Prague guide will give you all kinds of info re: hotels etc. Last time we stayed at the Pension Dientzenhofer and liked it (I don't tend to spend lots of time in my hotel room so wasn't looking for lots of comfort...but it was very clean and conveniently located, and the staff were friendly and helpful). Here's their website: http://www.dientzenhofer.cz/index_en.html
Depending on how long you'll be staying in the Czech Republic, I would highly recommend a trip to Cesky Krumlov (not just a daytrip -- try to stay at least one night or two). We had a GREAT little hotel there -- http://www.ckrumlov.info/docs/en/uby75.xml
OK I have rattled on for too long but let me know if you need anything else...

People in "The City" are not friendly, they are the suck!
Prague is great and I'm going back next month. Beautiful buildings, great food, many things to do and hot hot women!

I think Kathy might have to miss out on the pivo.

But that's the great thing about Europe - they don't care if you drink when you're preggers!!!
Though I probably still wouldn't because I'm sure when I do get pregnant I'll be the annoying "by the book" lady.

Experts agree that there probably is a "safe" amount of alcohol for a pregnant woman, but a)it's unethical to test for and b) it's like BAC, depends on your weight/height, body comp., what you've eaten...etc...
