Your recruitment skit
Wow, things have really dulled out around here. Everybody must be getting ready to go back to school!
Tell us about your recruitment skit.
Are you trying something new? Or sticking with the tried-and-true?

After 4 years, my old chapter is retiring the Sex and the City skit (which I can see it's about time for since it's not as popular as it once was). They decided to do the Clueless skit (which I personally hate)...we'll see how it goes.

After 3 years of also doing the Sex and the City skit, my chapter is changing the skit to "DG Goes to the Movies"- not sure how that will work out, but I hope it's great!

Well I love the movie Clueless, but have you seen the skit? I must admit, I've never seen it actually performed...but I read over the script. Maybe it'll turn out better than it sounds. When I first read it, it just didn't seem to be the message that I'd want to give to PNMs.

Oh, no, I haven't seen the skit. But I bet the girls make it really come alive in good ways.

My chapter does "DG Goes to the Movies!" It's really fun, because you can go crazy with it. Fun-crazy, not scary-crazy.

Ole Miss skits
Well, rush at Ole Miss is a big deal (but isn't it everywhere ?), so all the sororities really go all out for the skits. I remember when I went through, skit was by far the most entertaining round. Here, our skit is "DG at the Movies," but instead of lots of dialogue, the skit is mostly singing and dancing. It makes for an interesting alternative to sometimes-cheesy dialogue. It's divided into a few parts, and each is a song from a movie--some recent, some old. From what I've heard, Alpha Psi has been doing one version or another of this skit for years--it's updated year to year when something starts to get old, or a classic seems to fit.

LOL!! I just HATE the cheesy dialogue ...and it's not just DG. EVERYBODY has that stilted script where Rikki Recruitee is looking for her place. I'd MUCH rather listening to singing!
