Red face Iota Phi Theta and Sigma Gamma Rho?

Brothers -

I have heard a lot of talk about an informal relationship between Iota Phi Theta and Sigma Gamma Rho.

As you know, the national position is that we do not recognize and "Brother/Sister" relationship with any sorority. That said, I keep hearing about this "New Gold Love" thing. (Peep this website: http://www.angelfire.com/va2/suntzuipt4uva/gla.html

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Crunchy's 63 cents...

I really dont see a problem with any type of informal relationship with any organization. Part of the problem with black organizations is the lack of unity. If an organization of black women choose to associate themselves with us, or us to them, who is to say thats wrong???? We are very much our own organization, no doubt, but one can never be too proud as to turn down a friendship.

I have no problem with being associated formally or informally. We had a very good relationship w/ the SGRhos when I was in school. They are a fine group of black women.

To TrueZeta (and the group):

As has been said here on more than one occasion, the "relationship" between Iota and Sigma Gamma Rho is an informal one and is nothing that is endorsed by either of our national headquarters.

Your post subtly implies that Sigma Gamma Rho feels some sort of pressure to "hook up" with a Fraternity. This is totally inaccurate at best and highly disrespectful at worst.

While we men of Iota welcome any and all visitors to our forum, we will not tolerate catty behavior in here ... not towards Brothers or any of our guests.

Iotanet:
Good job of monitoring the forum for these type of unnecessary posts.

TO EVERYONE!

C'mon folks, greek luv no matter where it comes from or to whom its for is important because we should look out for another.

Because when society looks at us, they do not see the "differences" that we tend to focus on.

They see "greeks" and the unfortunate misrepresentations and stereotypes that greek life has.

So lets be civil to one another.

You never know.............

You might need the help of a person from that group that you disrespect some day!

*greek hugs and luv*

TRUEZETA:
First...let me start by saying (as has been stated by many before me) that which has been posted in numerous ( to numerous to count)forums...the FINER WOMAN of SIGMA GAMMA RHO IIIIINCORPORATED needed no male counterparts in 1922...and we definetly do not need any in 2002!!

Secondly....I can not for the life of me figure out why you (or anyone else) want to think just because we choose to be CARING, WARM, ENERGETIC, COMPASSIONATE, RESPECTABLE, THOUGHTFUL, EMBRACING an EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN...that we are trying to "find a brother fraternity"! If you choose to EMBRACE us...then we will EMBRACE you with open arms...the true mark of RHOyality!!...and on the same token...if you choose not to EMBRACE all that we have to offer...POOOF! be gone!!

THIRDLY...We, the DIVINE NINE, are all aware of the constitutional bond between your organizations! But this bond does not GOVERN nor does it delegate the use of the words "FRAT" & "SOROR"! In several of your posts in other forms...you touched upon this concept...were as basically these terms should be reserved for your organizations...and the use of these words by other GREEKS outside of your bond is "disrespectful" Well i certainly do not agree with this....and i am quite certain other member of THE DIVINE NINE would be inclined to agree with me!!

I know that i am safe in saying that we, SIGMA GAMMA RHO SORHORITY IIIIINCORPORATED, will and do sincerly welcome ANY and ALL..be it IOTA PHI THETA...KAPPA ALPHA PSI...PHI BETA SIGMA...GAMMA GAMMA PHIWHATEVER..Be it THE GOLDEN LUV AFFAR....INDY LUV...etc to experience ALL that is a SIGMA WOMAN...the mark of RHOyality...THE GODDESSES OF THE DAWN!!!

DONT' HATE...MOTIVATE!
DONT' HATE...PARTICIPATE!!!
DONT' HATE...CONGREGATE!!
DONT' HATE...CONGRATULATE!!

SIGMA GAMMA RHO...THE GREATER SORHORITY SINCE 1922!!

1922 UNTIL INFINITY...YOU WISH YOU WERE ME!!

TO MY IOTA FRATERS ....All that have shown SIGMA GAMMA RHO SORHORITY IIIIINNCORPORATED true luv and sincere RESPECT....THANKS...just know that the respect is mutual!!!

TO MY OTHER FRATERS ....EEEYYYIIIPPP...RHOyal luv reppin' in full effect!

TO MY GREEK SORORS....BE STRONG! BE PROUD! BE SISTERS!
