UC-Berkeley's Former 'Naked Guy' Dies

San Jose, CA (AHN) - Andrew Martinez, who gained notoriety in the early 1990's for attending class in the buff, has died in jail.

Martinez had been expelled from University of California, Berkeley because of his stripped-down strolls. His actions also prompted the city to adopt a strict anti-nudity ordinance.

According to jail spokesman Mark Cursi, Martinez was found unconscious in a Santa Clara County Jail and that the officials were investigating the death as an apparent suicide.

Martinez had been in jail since January 10 on charges of battery and assault with a deadly weapon.
